Cask at the Squirrel (not the Mad one, the other one!) in Wycombe. Lightly hazed yellow-gold with a thick white sparkler head. Light lemon and some dusty minerals. Very bland and dull, not helped by having had the life knocked out of it by the sparkler. Poor by Rebellion's standards.

[Cask at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading.] A bright amber pour with a loose cream coloured head; weak citrus aroma; biscuity malt taste with a little citrus; and a dry finish with some orange zest. This would be so much better with a decent amount of hops.

500ml bottle from the brewery. Poured a clear dark amber colour with a short-lived, frothy off-white head. The aroma is nutty malt. The flavour is moderate bitter and sweet, with a smooth, rich, earthy, nutty, woody hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation.

Bottle at the Vanilla Pod, Marlow served in a bizarre glass shaped like half of a tusk. Golden-amber with a white head. Bitterness is a bit heavy-handed from the off. There's a slight chalkiness in the otherwise nicely full mouthfeel. The pine and melon flavour is somewhat lost in the bitterness. It is at least crisp and clean - but yeah, average at best.
