[Cryo version] Cloudy / hazy deep gold with a small foamy white head, and a mellow, sweet fruity aroma. The flavour is predominantly bitter on top of a biscuit malt backbone, with a fresh and crispy mouthfeel sensation, leaving a nice dry, bitter aftertaste

Third, cask ale at Bison Beer North Laine, Shared with Finn. Upper part lacing, amber coloured body, misty. Naked at the top. Moderate smell of biscuit. Caramel fruity flavours added by herbal hops. Bittersweet finish. Fair enough. (Brighton 17.10.2019).

On tap at Shilling in Glasgow. LOOKS rubbish. Flat as a pancake and no head. Fortunately it's lovely when you drink it. A little more liquorice than is to my taste but plenty of dark chocolate, coffee and a little smokiness too. Not entirely my cup of tea because of the anise but it's good stuff. And an amazing name.

Cask at the Brighton Bierhaus, Brighton. Dark brown pour with a swiftly retreating beige head. Nose of coffee, toffee, caramel, cookie dough. Flavours of coffee, marshmallow, cookie dough, whisper of raspberry jam. Not bad.

Cask Egham. Citrus aroma with a herbal edge. Hazy pale yellow. Thin bubbly white head shrinks away. Medium bitter. Quinine, citrus and herbs. However the quinine takes over. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Low key average carbonation. Long dry finish. Starts off promisingly but then just gets a bit too quinine.
