Description
Burdock brewery set up shop in what used to be an old Portuguese chicken restaurant, and they transformed the space into an artist-driven bar/restaurant/music hall/microbrewery run by a group of musicians and music lovers. They offer a rotating list of clean pale ales, complex saisons, crisp pilsners, zippy sours, and beer-wine hybrids that are all brewed in house.

375mL bottle, pours a cloudy peachy golden with a small white head. Aroma is loaded with a lactose-like milky character, dry floral hops, tropical fruits and lots of pith. Flavour is quite tart, with lots of lacto, floral dry hopping, heaps tropical fruitiness, some moderate acidity, and ample tartness. Very fruity, lacto-y and tart. Unusual, but solid.

375mL bottle, sent from wilco (thanks a lot, Mike), pours a hazy blonde with a large white head. Nose brings out a nice saison yeast character, with some farmhouse notes, and dry crackery malt - smells quite authentic. Flavour follows accordingly, bringing out the saison yeast very nicely, with lots of rustic farmhouse notes. Very dry, with a crisp crackery malt finish. Now this is how you make a saison. Very good.

375mL bottle, sent from wilco (thanks a lot, Mike), pours a cloudy golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of tropical fruits, piney hops and biscuity malt. Flavour is loaded with passionfruit, mango, piney hops, some resinous hop oils and biscuity malt. Wonderfully fruity, with excellent robust hopping. An excellent IPA.

Pale pink and cloudy. This has a lot of fresh raspberry on the nose. Tart, lots of raspberry, touch of brett. Honestly not a lot of ale character. You don’t miss the hops with this one. Excellent.
