Established in 2016 in Elsdon, the heart of Northumberland. The First & Last is an award winning, family-run, microbrewery. We brew small batch cask-conditioned and bottled beer. Our beers are inspired by the wild, untamed landscape and starry skies of Northumberland.

Hand-pulled pint, 13th April 2023, lunchtime in the Tannery, Hexham. Off-white head on a mahogany body, clean and bright. Semi-sweet malty nose and taste, some British bitterness in there too. Good honest Bitter.

Sample courtesy of Grumbo, cheers Graham! Golden colour, bubbly white head and aroma of floral, fruity, citric, resinous hop. Taste is malt, grain, tangy, floral hops, with citrus, pine, and woody bitterness. Medium bodied, light carbonation, dry tangy woody hoppy bitter finish. Quite drinkable.

Cask @ Coventry Beer Festival. Small head with short duration. Color is golden. Aroma and taste are hops, grass, fruits, malt and has a nice bitter finish.

Cask @ Coventry Beer Festival. Clear yellow with a white head. Aroma is sweet, malty and moderate hoppy - citrus. Flavor is medium sweet and light bitter. Light dry and light bitter finish. Watery. 110323

3/3/2023. Cask at the 46th Loughborough Beer Festival. Pours clear pale yellow/gold with a small bubbly white head. Aroma of grapefruit, citrus, grass and flowers. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness and body. Soft carbonation. Pretty good.

Cask at Peterborough Beer Festival 2022. Pours golden with a white cap. Aroma - : stone fruit, orange, hops. Taste is similar, semi-dry finish. Light sweet & bitter. Light body with soft carbonation. Not bad.

Can thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - deep brown to black. Tan head. Nose - earthy and creamy chocolate. Taste - creamy and earthy chocolate light roast. Palate - creamy and medium bodied. Roast finish. Overall - good.

Can from CentrAle, Newcastle. Pours clear dark purple-tinged brown with a thin beige head. Aromas of light liquorice and tar. Taste is light earthy, liquorice and tar again. Chewy finish.
