12 oz bottle sent to me by my 2009 winter Secret Santa. Bottled on OCT notched on the label. Pour is orange copper amber with a nicely formed two inch egg white head. Patchy lacing lines the top of the glass throughout. Aroma of nicely soft semi-sweet caramel maltiness. Light grassy spiciness and pepper behind that. Aroma is one dimensional in the malt, but is so natural and clean that it overcomes this. Taste is a bit sharply caramel and apple fruit sweetness, with the mineral grass and grain picking up midway through and carrying through to the long dry finish. Some clove notes detectable in the aftertaste. Palate is medium to thin bodied, normal carbonation and the clean dry finish. Nice straight forward drinkable beer, thanks Santa.

Bottle at Borefts 10am day after hotel tasting after a very bad drunk Borefts festival ... black ... huge soft coffee roast nose ... soft rich ... sweet soft roast ... loads of coffee ... very smooth ... very rich... remains of bottle 2 days later in Hotel room in Amsterdam ... to make room in luggage ... deep black ... soft coffee roast nose ... deep deep coffee ... low bitterness ... rich and heavy ... little charcoal in linger ... Mixed with cuvve 2 barley wine ... lovely ... this tones down the coffee and bit and adds nice vanilla ... nice fruit with a coffee hit still there.

22oz bomber. Hazy golden-orange color. Small off white head. Mellow seawater hop aroma. Rather mellow and subdued, not unlike an APA with its creamy, earthy flavors. Not that aggressive, ends up having an odd soapy lemon-lime taste. The finish is a little weak too, with some thin and dirty malt tastes. Almost tastes like there is some underlying diacetyl. Mild and unimpressive for the style.

bottle @ Tampa xmas gathering. pours golden, white head aroma is malty, hints of citrus hops. flavor, citrus/grapefruit hops, overall profile keeps a more subtle malty approach. Was expecting a little more hops rather than malt. Simple and refreshing.

A decent session beer. Lightly roasted malt and grain. Very light hops. Nice amber color and some sediment. Nothing exciting, a little nut flavor, and very drinkable.

Very good but not great Imperial Stout, I’ve had better. Tasted like milk and coffee combo, smelled very milky, practically black. Nothing to write home about.
