Brown with a decent head. Has a roasted, slight earth hop aroma. Flavor has a deeper roasted malt note, light chocolate, some oak, toffee, and light herbal hops. A decent brown that went down easy.

Location: Sampled at the NY Brewfest on Governor's Island, 6/19/10
Aroma: The nose is floral and citrus hops, some earth, caramel, and crystal malts
Appearance: It pours a slightly hazy amber color with a medium head
Flavor: The taste has some malty sweetness that is balanced by decent hop presence
Palate: The body is light-medium with a slightly metallic mouthfeel
Overall Impression: This was a decent Amber beer overall. The flavor if this one is a bit muddled, and it could have been better, but it was drinkable.

Union Hall, Brooklyn tap ($6): Pours a beautiful creamy nitrogen head over a body somewhere between gold and amber, that has a cascading look when poured. Aroma is relatively straightforward, with some more hops than one would expect from the style. Bread and malts... Mouthfeel is a huge plus. This beer feels great. Not a particularly complex brew, but infinitely drinkable and sessionable.

Aroma: The nose is of this brew is fairly subtle with a little vanilla cream and some light wheat
Appearance: This one is a beige colored beer with a thick and creamy head
Flavor: The taste is also fairly subtle, mostly malts with minimal hop presence
Palate: This beer had an above average palate for me, smooth and creamy, highly drinkable
Overall Impression: Overall, this was pretty mediocre in my opinion. It is a decent enough looking beer, and the palate/drinkability it probably the highlight, but the rest of the beer was just fairly mediocre.

Tap at Governors Island Brewfest. A rather English style IPA. Poured a mostly clear copper-amber with a medium, white head. Nose of earthy and piney hops. Some light caramel sweetness in the flavor, but mostly strong bitterness. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Could use a bit more sweetness to balance out the hop bite, I would say, but the hops still satisfy.

Tap at Governors Island Brewfest. A pretty tasty and lightly dynamic beer. Pours a slightly hazy yellow-gold with a soft, white head. Spicy, herbal aroma with light malts. Fairly sweet flavor with strong ginger notes, honey, plenty of florals, some faint bitterness on the finish. Light to medium in body with lively carbonation. Nice brew.

Tap at Governors Island Brewfest. Good beer. Poured light yellow, pretty clear, with a soft, white head. Nose of light fruit and spice, with hints of malt and hops. Fairly sweet flavor with flourishes of lemon and spice, and a mild hop bite on the tail to lend the beer a crisp conclusion. Light to medium in body and well carbonated. Good take on the Summer Beer style.

Tap at Governors Island Brewfest. I loved this beer. Poured a light brown with a soft, medium white head. Strong maple aroma, along with nice malts and light caramel. Flavor was very sweet with prevalent maple. Medium in body with average carbonation. I’ve found some maple beers have just hints of the ingredient, but here it was really the centerpoint and, as such, this beer was sweet. Perhaps not what everyone is looking for, but it worked well for me. If you want maple syrup, you want it sweet, right?

Tap at Governors Island Brewfest. I enjoy fruit beers but this one was just average. Poured a (yep) deep purple with a strong, mostly white head. Aroma of wheat, yeast and some fruit - grape? raspberry? Flavor had moderate sweetness but seemed a little muddled. I want my fruit beer crisp and clean. Not unpleasant, though.

Tap at Governors Island Brewfest. Not bad. Poured medium amber with a fluffy, white head. Quite earthy in aroma and flavor with moderate caramel sweetness.
