Description
We opened our doors in Brixton in mid 2013 with the aim of teaching Londoners how to make beer. We have expanded operations at this site to offer up to 30 draught lines featuring our commercially available beers, exclusive nano brews and guest beers plus a large stock of cans and bottles to take home. We remain one of the very few venues in London to stock home brewers with hops, malt and yeast.

Bottle at home in London - picked up at the Lab. Pours mostly clear ruddy brown with a thick, creamy beige head. The nose is all toasty leaves, crunchy grains, a dusting of cocoa and toffee. Light sweet flavor with a bit of lightly toasted brown bread, some ripening berries, grains, leaves, dried fruits. Light in body with fine carbonation. Decent balance on the finish, with further leafy character, toasty bread and grains, old berries, faint dry toffee. It ticks the boxes that it should.

Bottle at London Beer Lab. Deep amber - quite pale for a dunkelweizen- with a thick off-white head. Banana is the main flavour here, although it’s not overpowering. Some roasty malt and chocolate comes through afterwards, along with a light metallic tinge. A little sweet and sticky perhaps but pleasant enough.

Bottleshare at Leighton’s flat. Thanks to Leighton. Almost opaque dark brown beer, tidy pale tan head. Fine carbonation, a bit over carbonated actually. Mellow dark malts with a mild milky sweetness. Subtle tangy fruits. Crisp dry finish. It’s okay.

Bottleshare at Leighton’s flat. Thanks to Leighton. Lightly hazy gold beer, big fluffy off white head. Palate is airy, dry and crisp. Mild seltzer. A slight milky sweetness in the thin malts. Bitter crispy floralness. Trace of citrus. A dry crisp finish, brings more floral bitterness. Okay.
