Description
We are always busy creating taste sensations, always looking for improvements or new flavours and optimizing our beers. Our beer is pronounced, complex, balanced, often full and soft in texture. We don’t brew beer for everyone, we only brew beer for people who love pronounced flavours. We do this by constantly tinkering with our recipes in search of perfection, we want to brew beer that is considered legendary. One has to tell stories about how great the beer of the Moersleutel is. Anyone who drinks our beer must be spoiled for life and must want nothing more.

1/1/17: Creamy and chocolatey. Boozy. Nice and roasted, well balanced, solid. Would happily drink more of this, curious for the others.
2/7/20: Batch 99. Was looking forward to repeating this, and seeing how much it changed over time. Did not get super sweet, which I feared. Loads of roast, giving it a very nice bitterness with plenty of licorice and coffee. Some sweetness. Heavy. Smooth enough.
25/6/21: Black, bit of brown head, gluggy. Smells roast, deep dark chocolate, plenty coffee. Not too thick, but lovely smooth and rich. Taste is bitter, nicely roasty, with a soft sweetness. Loads of dark chocolate going on. A modern classic, maybe? Delicious.

Bottle from het Biermoment, batch 12 BB 9-2022, 37.5 cl sample. Dark brown color, not much head but just some brown lacing. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, dark fruit, licorice. All the typical malt forward aromas you expect in a big stout, just not lot of sweet notes like vanilla or molasses. Maybe a bit caramel and toffee sweetness and some alcohol. It does indeed have toffee and caramel sweetness in taste, plus quite some coffee liqour and roasted malts. Quite nice actually. Coffee RIS with a werthers echte on the side. Very impressive for a young brewery and of the few starting in 2016 that actually seem to impress people. 2016 was horrible in regard to new additions to the Dutch brewing scene. Good to finish this year with a positive experience.

Bottle at home, 26th December 16. Pours orange with a perfect inch thick stiff head. Aroma is bitter orange marmalade, some sourness. Taste is bitter, clean, slightly soapy, lingering bitter pith slight sour, refreshing, dry, classy IPA. Great stuff.

Bottle @ home. Opaque pitch black color, medium sized brown head that lasts for quite a while. Aroma is malts, dark malts, don’t get much more. Taste malts, soft roast, dark malts, a slight hint of liquorice, moderate malt bitterness, moderate bitter finish. Nice easy to drink porter, dangerously drinkable even at 10% ABV.

Bottle. Color: Almost black, fast disappearing light brown head. Taste: Pretty intense dark roasted malt, espresso. Bittersweet, getting more bitter at the long lasting finish.Dry mouthfeel. Smooth, low carbonation. Wow! Very nice imperial porter.
