Bottle. Black. Caramel, roast and whisky in the aroma. Hint of licorice. Malty sweet, alcoholic flavor with caramel, roast, licorice and whisky. A bit too alcoholic.

Bottle. Dark brown color. Soft roast with a hint of smoke and toffee in the aroma. Whisky. Full bodied. Sweet, alcoholic flavor with roast, toffee, smoke , vanilla and clearly noticeable whisky. Warming alcohol.

Bottle shared thanks to Thijs. Almost clear golden, almost white head. Light yeast, spicy hops, sweet malts, grassy, white grapes, some chicory, alcohol. Solid medium sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with quite some carbonation and light boozy finish. 0

Bottle at home, darker golden beer, small head. Aroma is earthy, malt, light herbal. Taste is the same, bitter aftertaste, not bad.

22 June 2020. At De Gouverneur, Maastricht. Shared with the lovely Anke! Pours cloudy black with a very thin, frothy, yellowish beige head. Aroma of milk chocolate & chocolate biscuit, dark toffee, dried fig, leather, coffee, soy, sweet tobacco, alcohol. Taste has sweet chocolate, fig & dark toffee, bitter toasty & nutty edge with a vague leathery-umami accent. Dry, earthy hoppy finish, peppery notes, lingering chocolate & cream & warming whisky alcohol. Full body, oily texture, soft carbonation. RIS as it should be, not too many frills.

22 June 2020. At De Gouverneur, Maastricht. Shared with the lovely Anke! Pours hazy amber/red with a thin, foamy, tan head. Aroma of toffee, dried tea leaves, candied apricot, orange peel, redcurrant, sour cherry, brioche, jam, dark honey. Taste has sweet toffee, candied orange, apricot & cherry, sour touch of redcurrant, vague herbal hoppy bitterness into the finish, more apparent wood & sour cherry now, but toffee & candied fruit linger too. Warming liqueur alcohol in the very end. Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation. Still too much of that base beer here so I'm missing out on the 'wild' treatment. Nice though!

Bottle from Mallorn in RB 02/2020 Euro Swap - Cheers! 🍻. Large white foamy head stayed on a heavily carbonated dark golden body. Dusty tobacco aroma. Medium bodied, soft on the palate with a dry back & clean aft. Herbaceous tastes with clove, citrus, cardboard, malt & sweet jam. It's an unusual but tasty.

Bottle at home, golden beer, small head. Aroma is fruity, yeast, some citrus. Taste is the same, bit of yeast, lemon and citrus, light peppery, dry citrus/lemon aftertaste. very nice honestly.
