Description
Lost and Grounded Brewers is a brewery in Bristol, UK, established in July 2016. We are particularly fascinated by the precision of German brewing and the idiosyncratic nature of Belgian beers, and we chose the brewhouse of our dreams that could help us make these wonders of fermentation.

Keg at the Cambridge Brewhouse. Golden and almost clear with a small white head. Grass aroma with a light sourdough quality from the yeast. Bittersweet taste which sets up for a refreshing dry finish. Soft yeast and tropical fruit in the aftertaste. Light body buoyed up by heavy carbonation. While it’s a bit muted on the whole, it’s a well-produced summer drink.

Keg tap at the Old Bicycle Shop, Cambridge. Purplish brown, translucent with a thin creamy head. Oak chips and a touch of chestnut in the modest aroma. Sweet, sweet taste with a lovely bitter hop in the finish. Root beer mingles with a more medical note in the aftertaste. Heavily carbonated but not overly so. A cracker.

Keg at Waterloo Tap, 20/06/17. A citrusy lager aroma. Opaque light gold. Thin white head. An initial bitterness gives way to citrusy sourness. Not very accurate but I’d go with a posh radler. Light-medium bodied, heavy for a lager. Watery with a soda-esque carbonation. Abrupt finish. May well be benefitting from having been rated on a hot day whilst I came down with heat stroke but this really hit the spot.

Bottle from Thirsty, Cambridge. Light to mid-gold, hazy with a frothy and quickly dissipating white head. Light floral hops in the aroma with touches of lime peel and hay. Sweet taste, light and unbelievably refreshing. The finish is far drier and there’s an acidity in the aftertaste that takes it down a notch for me. Otherwise it’s an outstanding hot weather beer.

Appearance- golden, a bit of haze, a solid white 2-finger head. Aroma- cereal, malt, bread, trace of cardboard, spicy hints. Taste- fluffy malty bread, cereal malt, spices, bitter hops, fairly full mouthfeel, apple and fruity hop undertones. A bit creamy. Nice.

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up at Clapton Craft. Pours clear gold with a modest, foamy white head. The nose has some crackers, wheat flakes, honey. Light sweet flavour with some citric notes, wheat grains, light grassy and husky bitterness, more crackers. Light bodied with delicate carbonation and smooth texture. Finishes with semi-ripe citrus fruits, more crackers and grains, mellow husky bitterness, soft saison yeast expression. Decent overall.

Keg tap from the Petersfield, Cambridge. Clear yellow with a sizeable white head. Lots of visible carbonation. Not a lot of aroma. Some gardenia and some sharp lemon peel. Taste is more rounded, starting sweet before being devoured by the dogged bittering hops. The slight note of soap takes in down a notch. Otherwise pretty good if not outstanding.

Lane. Jasnożółte, wyraźnie zmętnione, z drobnopęcherzykową pianą, pozostawiającą ładne ślady na szkle. W aromacie delikatnie słodowe, raczej bez wad. W smaku lekko kwaskowe, wytrawne, raczej w niemieckim stylu. Goryczka bardzo niska. Wysycenie raczej wysokie, delikatnie kłujące w przełyk. Trochę myli wyraz pils w nazwie, bo to zdecydowanie nie jest pils.
