This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a gentle hazy burnt yellow color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated nicely. Thin lacing starts and slides into the beer.
The smell starts off with some sweet crisp lemony hops. Light sweet and sour grapes. Delicate vinous qualities. Subdued yeast, can’t tell if its Belgian or champagne, hmmm...I know Mystic tends to use their house yeast but somehow the aromatics of this one seems a bit combined - very nice.
The taste leaned towards the sweeter lemon crisp hops than the Belgian or even champagne yeasty qualities. Wet sweet lemon aftertaste. Quick wet finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fantastic sessionable quality about it. Carbonation runs fairly light. Sweetness hits appropriately, nothing off or overly penetrating.
Overall, a knockout of a saison by Mystic, perhaps one of my favorites even with the vinous quality surrounding it. Would be perfect with some black & bleu cheese encrusted steaks!

Thoroughly hazy brass-golden body is topped by a small but staunch white head.
Hops in the nose complement the sourness quite nicely as nectarine, lemon, light lactic notes and hints of brett all combine to produce a very bright and funky nose. Bits of biscuit and cracker show the sparse malt hanging in the background. No alcohol or flaw.
High carbonation, mostly tight, but exposing some very light astringency from the extremely low gravity, high attenuation and bitter/tart notes. Otherwise, there’s delicious pineapple and nectarine with lots of soft citrus and strong brett/lactic acids. Very juicy as it continues to warm which proves to be the most endearing. Tons of dry fruit skin-like flavors definitely need the juiciness to balance. Some light salinity, lots of cracker/biscuit and juicy, tart, lactic notes for days. Great combination of flavors and you can’t argue with all of that in such a low gravity beer. Mystic seems to be able to do no wrong lately.

Bottle. Pours a clear deep amber red with a tan head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has notes of slightly tart musty red fruits and a bit of earthy grains backing. Flavor is full of stale bread with some earthy grains and a touch of hay.

Bottle. Beermoth, Manchester. Hazy, deep gold. Streams of fine bubbles. Thick, lasting, white head. Nose has sweet, bready malts. Granary toast. Light spice. Some lemon hop. Taste is bready, malty sweet. Light, spicy bitterness. Foamy, massaging mouthfeel. Easy drinking. A tad stodgy sweet, mind.

Bright orange-golden body shows a strong haziness, though not approaching the soup of some Trillium and TreeHouse beers. White head atop is moderate-sized and shows decent retention.
Very fruity in the nose, this is dry-hopped with Ella and Summer and shows the mango, nectarine and pineapple characteristic of those hops. These NZ/AU hops are evolving and even these seem to have a leg up on mosaic and galaxy. Somehow juicier and even less bitter, it’s like a fruit cocktail with mandarin, cherry and soft coconut-papaya. Ok, probably getting very carried away in my deScriptors, but it’s nonetheless immensely sniffable and juicy, as promised. Alcohol pretty well-concealed.
In the mouth, the juice makes good on its promise and this is amply malted, but nicely attenuated DIPA without any real bitterness. Some zestiness and balancing citrus-like acidity is the extent, while nectarine and mango explode on the palate. Deceptively dry and quite drinkable, with cherry and pineapple lingering. Medium amounts of very tight carbonation lend themselves to perfecting the mouthfeel. After the too bitter Bonus Life (missed Orange Dinosaur), I’m glad to see Mystic is on the list of brewers who have discovered the correct recipe of the New England IPA.

Beer Table To Go, NYC tap: pours hazy yellow with a white head. Aroma is tropical fruit, vinegar, and the funk. The beer itself is pretty sour but the sourness does not totally overwhelm the tropical fruity elements. The dry hopping is there and noticeable in small parts. Nice bit of complexity. Nice beer.

750 ml bottle into tulip glass; batch number: 015. Pours lightly hazy golden yellow color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big lemon, orange, apricot, pear, apple, white grape, peppercorn, straw, cracker, biscuit, light honey, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, earthy hops, and moderate bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big lemon, orange, apricot, pear, apple, white grape, peppercorn, straw, cracker, biscuit, light honey, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Moderate herbal/yeast spiciness after the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, orange, apricot, pear, apple, white grape, peppercorn, straw, cracker, biscuit, light honey, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, earthy hops, and moderate bready malt flavors; with a great malt/spiciness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from carbonation and yeast spiciness as well. Medium-high carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp, and fairly grainy/bready/creamy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an outstanding saison! All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, earthy hops, and moderate bready malt flavors; and very smooth, crisp, and easy to drink. A highly enjoyable offering.

Bottle shared at the 2015 edition of the chriso Pre-GBBF tasting - London. Cheers! Pours cloudy gold with a foamy, white head. Jammy citrus in the nose, assorted berries - strawberry, cranberry, raspberry. Light to medium sweet flavour, with jammy fruits, bread, faint yeast, berries. Light bodied with average carbonation. Sweet finish, with more bready and fruity character. Nice beer.
