Bottle from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours copper/amber with a slight off-white head. Aroma is mild citrus/floral. Med body. Flavor is cooked caramel, spicy hop, citrus and floral hop. The cooked aspect doesn’t appeal. That’s two beers tonight I’ve had that as an issue with. Maybe I am just needing more hops than some brewers choose to use. I agree this is hoppy for an amber, and as a very little bitter builds the ale becomes more agreeable.

Bottle. Pours with a near black hued body and a large brown head. Aromas are of molasses, milk chocolate, burnt candy, very estery. Dark fruit, floral hops and bakers chocolate. Flavors are quite metallic and burnt. Molasses, rough roast, acrid. Very harsh. Burnt and astringent, ashy. Over use of dark molasses (I have done it at home). Bitter. Very messy. Fuller carbonation, off-dry.

Bottle. Pours with a clear bronze hued body with an off-white head that slowly fades. Aromas are of big tropical fruits, citrus, mango, pine and resin along side way too much sticky caramel and nutty/astringent tannic extracted malt. I am a bit torn. I love the super fresh hop profile, but despise the amount of sweet crystal malt that I am smelling. Flavors are tropical fruit, but a near cloying sweetness with massive body. This beer (about 2 weeks old at the max) is saved purely by how fresh it is. Grass, mango, papaya, low bitterness. Huge body with massive amounts of caramel. Lively carbonation, full bodied. Great hop profile, but WHY would you add so much dextrin malt?
