Amber and bright. The aroma is citrusy, bright, only a little bit woody. Herbal and slightly bitter character. A good, refreshing APA...I like it better than their IPA.

On tap at Naja’s. Hazy golden-amber. Earthy, woody aroma with a little bit of caramel. Accented towards the richer caramel side of things (as IPAs go), with a light cedary hop accent. Not bright enough for my taste.

On tap listed as "Strand Black IPA". Pours with a deep brown near black body with a large and retentive khaki hued head. Very good lace. Aromas of hops (pine, citrus, lightly herbal), chocolate and molasses. Some esters. Pretty malty for what I was expecting. Flavors are bitter, earthy, roasty, soil. Some faded hops. Lasting bitterness in the finish. Light dankness. Seems faded. Medium bubbles, a bit too sweet in the finish.
Unknowing rerate: Near black body with a tan head. Aromas are of roast, vanilla, caramel, leather, with mild spicy hops. Flavors are of citrus, leather, chocolate, esters and mild fruit. Full bodied, and quite mild on the hops. This is a hoppy porter. No better than the original rating score wise.

On tap. Pours with a hazed golden body and an off-white head. Aromas of orange, grass and tropical fruit. Flavors are lightly hoppy, caramel, fruit, citrus, tropical fruits. A bit on the malty side for me. East Coast balance. Lively bubbles.

On cask, poured by the brewer. Hazy golden body with a frothy white head. Hoppy nose, a little citrusy, a little spicy, a bit toasty. Taste is citrus, hoppy and pretty great for a cask pale ale. Minimal carbonation. Good.
