Description
Trillium Brewing Company was founded by JC and Esther Tetreault, a young dumb couple in love, planning their wedding and dreaming about how they would spend their lives together. The desire to build a brewery was about more than just making beer, it was about creating a way of life and building a community with which to share experiences. A beer geek and botany nerd, JC chose the trillium flower to represent what we strive to bring to our beer and our lives: beauty, strength, simplicity, and balance. We operate a brewery and taproom in Canton, MA as well as a full service restaurant and brewery in the Fort Point neighborhood of Boston. We also operate seasonal pop-up beer gardens around the city of Boston under the Trillium Garden project.

The beer is a hazy orangey yellow. More than hazy, quite cloudy. Big white head. Glowy color. Lots of lacing. The aroma pops with fresh hoppiness. There’s a big pineapple note with pine, tangerine, grass and lime. It has that yeasty, minerally sharpness of the new wave of top hoppy beers. The taste is dry and full of hop flavor. Moderate bitterness, builds to medium bitter in the finish. Wonderful mineral character. Crisp and light. Mouthfeel is full, light and refreshing. Super easy to drink. Feels dangerously lighter than 6.6% abv. Excellent beer.

750ml bottle pours a fairly clear, dark orange with some creamy, white head. Nose is fairly approachable, aromatic coffee, not quite whole beans but more grounds, some turbinado sugar, mild candy, toffee, coffee candies. Flavor is sweet, a little astringent actually, I guess that’s the booze, coffee, a little butterscotch, brown sugar. Finishes a bit tannic.

750ml bottle pours a very murky black with a ring of beige head. Nose has quite a bit of coffee, some molasses, malty, some toast, a little berry jam lurking, some chocolate. Flavor is heavier on the coffee, which is nice, nutty, lightly sweet, brown sugar, molasses, chocolate, mild cakey. Full bodied, lightly sweet finish. Solid.

Bottle shared at the 5K/7.5K/10K tasting - who has a 7.5K tasting? big thanks to Leighton for more Trillium goodness, 30/12/14. Hazed orange amber with a big old eggshell white head that retains well - picture postcard beer! Nose is big juicy citrics, pine needles, juicy hop wash, spruce, mandarin, tangerine, fresh citricana drive by. Taste comprises light mineral notes, straw, mandarin, tangerine, light apricot, melon. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close peppered with grassy hop bitterness and a light pine needleage. Super solid IPA - Trillium showing the others the way!

Bottle thanks to Kyle. Pours a cloudy yellow orange with large frothy white head that lasts leaving sticky lacing. The aroma is pineapple, floral, and pine. Medium mouth, nice grapefruit, nice dryness, lingering bitterness, very nice.

The beer is a tannish burnt orange color. Rocky off white head. Lots of lacing. Nice sweet tropical fruit hops in the aroma. Little malt character. Very nice. The taste is light and full of hop fruit flavor. Mango, pineapple, a little papaya, mild tangerine. Good stuff. No real malt sweetness but it is fairly sweet. It makes me think of hoppy beers that stay away from early hop additions. Moderate bitterness in the finish. Solid DIPA.

The beer is black with just a tiny bit of brown at the edges. Creamy beige head. Roast, caramel, some mild dark fruit. A little bit of chocolate. Taste is moderately sweet, moderately dry finish. Caramel, cocoa, more of the same mild fruitiness. Creamy body, relatively low carbonation. Fairly sticky. Definitely an oatmeal porter.
