Bottle. Creamy White good mostly lasting head. Yellow colour. Moderate malty and heavy hoppy aroma.. Modrate bitter flavor. Citrus notes. Average moderate bitter finish. Oily palate.

Sampled @ Danish Summer Gathering 2015 Sehr trübe goldgelbe Farbe, geringe weiße Schaumkrone. Geruch sehr hopfig, grasig bitter, eine Menge Citrusfrüchte. Geschmack sehr hopfig, trocken, viele Citrusfrüchte, Lemon, leicht zu trinken, gut!

Sampled at 8th Danish Ratebeer Gathering, Ulfborg 2015. Bottle. Unclear yellow color, medium sized white head. Aroma is huge hops, citrussy, fruit hops, awesome! Taste also is full on hops, fruit hops, hop bitter, fruit bitter. Awesome IPA. Bottle shared by kermis @ Night before crazy Danish ticking spree whilst planning to give Dean a wedgie - tasting. Hazy yellow color, medium to full sized a bit soapy white to off-white head that diminishes fairly quickly. Aroma is lightly malts, nicely hoppy and wet grass. Taste lightly malts, hops, fruit hops, orange and orangepeel in an incredibly balanced way with a great perfect bitterness to it. Really well balanced and much better in the taste than in the aroma I’d say. Medium body and carbonation. Fine IPA.

Bottle shared at night before crazy Danish ticking spree tasting. Pours cloudy dull orange with a big short lived off white head. Aroma of resinous hops, orange peel, almost leathery, weeds, pine and a light malt background. Flavour is light to moderate sweet and over moderate bitter with a light oily hop resinous palate with citrus and orange peel. Light medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Typical Trillium pour. Massive tan head atop an ebony body with probable high clarity. Strong retention.
Wanted to give this one some time to mellow out. Not that I tried it fresh, but at 11.5% abv, I’ve got to imagine 5 months isn’t exactly going to hurt it....
Unfortunately, while the thing isn’t overly boozey, or at least not so relative to its abv, the aroma and flavor just don’t come together. The biggest flavor flaw is just a heavy beaniness, also present in the aroma. Almost like baked beans, or split pea soup. Overly earthy, with odd, almost meat-like qualities. Seen it before in coffee beers and I don’t know what causes it. It’s not the age, as I’ve had tons of old coffee imperials that don’t show it. Anyhow, that really ruined a good deal of the experience for me. On top of that, the beer is massively cloying and syrupy, with little dryness or interesting roast character to balance. Just huge fudge, caramel and sweet vanilla with only faint ash notes and the crunchy, earthy, beany coffee. Not my cup of tea....

Large white head atop a not-as-Trillium-hazy-as-usual golden body. Good retention.
This was a lovely one all around. Light citrus, papaya, and other plentiful tropical fruits and soft honey and vanilla-laden malts in the background, with no heavy resin/pine or any doughy/yeasty dullness. Bitterness is certainly there, but never builds up to the point of fatiguing the palate and in turn balances the supple maltiness, with no sweetness building up either. Very nicely balanced, highly flavorful, no aspirin-like flavors. A small amount of tangy/punchiness is the only detractor here, but otherwise pretty on par with Congress Street, albeit a little lighter and with less lush/juicy hoppiness. No alcohol noted, good attenuation, fine, engaging carbonation.

Bottle thanks to Todd! You make me hate St. Louis just a little bit less:) Pours a mostly clear orange color with a medium white head. Massive resinous fruity hop nose, oranges, herbal tea. The flavor is big sweetness, malty sweet base, oranges, just a huge dominant late boil hop goodness. Lovely soft IPA. Drinkable as all hell. Awesome.

Bottle thanks to Todd. Pours a clear orange color with a medium white head. A big fruity nose, huge late boil aromatics here. Lemons, massive citrus burst in the flavor, the smoothness and drinkability is through the roof. Light yeast, bready base. Wonderful IPA.
