Growler from the brewery. Pours clear yellow with a foamy, white head. Gorgeous aroma, just dripping with nelson, lots of piss, melon, some citrus. Light to medium sweet flavor with more juicy hops, melon, a bit of lemon, pale bread. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Lovely, dank and juicy finish, more pissy nelson, some citrus. Delicious.

Draught at Tip Tap Room, 4/13/14
Dark amber-cherry colored beer with a small, light beige head that shows moderate to poor retention.
Soft, fruity hoppiness in the nose shows off light ruby red grapefruit, oranges, cherries and some spicy rye notes as well. Touches of pale and carramel malts with an odd buttery-sweet note that must be from the turbinado (it’s not diacetyl). Some light fruity yeast esters and moderate phenolics are notable but nothing is too strong or overbearing here.
The mouthfeel is pretty tight on this, with a soft, malty texture and engaging carbonation. Another one of their hoppy pale and saison hybrids and but for the strange peanut butter and banana note (about as close as I can get to describing it), it works pretty well. Hoppiness is fruity, lightly bitter and well done as always from Trillium. A bit on the sweet side, the creaminess sort of exacerbating that. Good, but what the hell is that strange peanut buttter-banana note?
