On tap at the Magpie. Opaque black beer, good pale tan head. Smooth palate, fairly dry. Quite a robust dark malt with a little roast. Good piney hops with a subtle limey tang. Malt turns a little creamy with subtle coffee. Whisper of red fruits underneath. Nice beer, great flavour and mouthfeel for it’s abv but there is an acrid note right in the middle that whilst not offputting is enough to knock it down a few points.

On tap at the Magpie. Slight hze on this gold beer. Little white head. Palate is light and dry with mild fine carbonation. Grassy bitterness with a nice medley of fruits underneath. Tangerine, lime, starfruit and lemon. Bitterness builds in to full on finish that is semi dry and with loads of bitter linger. Tasty!

On draught @ Haymarket Bar, Edinburgh. Pours opaque in a close to black colour. The nose has a mix of sweet caramel and grapes. The taste has a drying burnt coffee with a raisin note. The palate has a medium structure and texture with a fairly clean finish though there is a slightly burnt astringent note. Overall, the best beer I’ve had in this pub tonight but only a bit above average, I think!
