660ml bottle at 7.4%. Pours black with no head. Aroma is sour blackcurrant and roast coffee. Taste has blackcurrant and wood to start. Sour coffee finish. Barely any carbonation.

Bottle. Hazy dark amber wit medium off-white head. Aroma is caramel, fruit, little toffee and hops. Flavour is malt, caramel, fruit, little toffee, hops, little citrus, medium bitter, little citrus and notes of alcohol.

Cask, handpump at Seven Stars, Bristol 27.12.11 Dark brown with a beige rim, very chocolatey with a little spice, some curly hoppiness, middling bitterness, bloody tasty but not quite as good as the Raw Grey Ghost IPA which we also had in this pub. A7 A3 T7 P4 Ov14 3.5

[i] [b] Cask, gravity Merton Summer Beer Festival July 2005, retrospectively added from notes [/b] [/i] Pours dark brown almost black in colour, there is some fruitiness that hits out at first. Further sips reveal nice roasted qualities and also decent sweet malty balance, some chocolate on the nose. Very nice porter.

Hazy amber with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel and rather hoppy - peach. Flavor is quite sweet and rather bitter. Dry and rather bitter finish. 271211

Bottle @ liva , Kolding. Pours black with a small creamy beige head. Vague ashes and Lovely rounded , fresh and smooth coffee. OAky anf sweet with a touch of Green Apples. Very simple , clean and Tasty stuff.

Cask handpull at Old Buttermarket Canterbury. Drunk outside in freezing cold to get a signal. Hazy russet colour thick beige head. Yes a good amber red rye beer. Really likeable and drinkable. Spicy rye aroma. Touch of stinging hop but also lots of turkish delight fruit too. Impressive. Great condition too. excellent beer

Bottle conditioned from Corks, Bristol. Dark brown in colour with a slick of a head. Rich, chocolate and coffee aroma, with a hint of caramel. Flavours of chocolate fondant, cafe latte and a touch of fruit, leading to a dryish finish with an after taste of charred wood. Excellent. Although the commercial description is different and Peat Porter remains listed on the Moor website, I wonder if this is a rebranding.

Cask-conditioned at the Inn on the Green, Bristol 22/12/07. Near black with a moderate tan head. chocolate and liquorice aroma with a touch of hops. Easy drinking with roasted and dark chocolate flavours and a dry finish. Good.

Malzbetonter Hopfenantrunk. Starke passende Süße, steigender Hopfen. Vollmundig, blumig-bitter, die Süße ist in Teilen einen Ticken zu stark. Das Bier ist ziemlich süffig, nur im Abgang kommt kurz eine stechende Alkoholnote auf. 8/11/12/11/8/12
