Keg at my Dad's funeral wake at Chippenham Park Bowls Club (who put on a shindig that would have made my Dad chuffed to bits - thanks to everyone there). I was glad they had this brew on, as it was very much the sort of beer my Dad would have gone for. I never much liked this beer on cask myself, but had never tried the keg version. It's an amber beer with a cream-coloured nitro head. It's quite watery and rather bland, with a touch of caramel and a light dusty bitterness. It's a style of bitter that's probably about 40 years out of fashion, but you know what - there's nothing actually wrong with it, it's quite drinkable and on a hot day when I was stuck in a too-warm suit it was actually quite refreshing. It's certainly better than similar keg bitters such as John Smith's or Tetley's. So... cheers Dad, thanks for being such an all round top bloke, I will always miss you.
