"Bock". Very cloudy. Soft, yeasty and a bit kit-beer like. Doesn’t have the same burly character of a traditional bock. Rustic, but you know it’s not a bad beer.

Cloudy amber-brown. The aroma is mostly kit beer, maybe with a light dark malt accent. Sweet taste, fairly yeasty with a light smoke accent. Off-dry finish.

Dark brown. Sticky, very burnt toffee notes with figs. This has a nice, mellow sugary character with some complex nuances.

Hazy tan. The aroma is yeasty, doughy kit beer. Moderate balance, maybe a bit of crackery dryness but also has some kit influence. Admittedly, though, it’s tough to get much through the smoke in this place and it’s too cold to go outside.

(Draught at the brewpub, Berlin, 22 July 2010) Red colour with foamy, pink head. Fruity nose with notes of cherries and chilli (no surprises I suppose). Fruity, fairly sweet taste with notes of cherries and a generous chilli bite coming through in the finish. Medium body, fairly sweet with a hot, spicy finish lingering for quite a while. Interesting and weird. Drinkable in moderate amounts.
