08/03 Draught at the brewpub. It poured cloudy orange body with medium size head. Yeasty and unpasteurized herbal hop aroma. Sweetish fruity, mostly banana, biscuit and honey malt, also with slight herbal to orange hops, very nice but weak, so all of it is subtle. Medium to thinner body with shorter fine fruity and citrus hop finish. Good, although a little bit watery, but it’s definitely an interesting ale.

Draught at the brewpub. Poured an almost clear red-brown with a big thick pink head. Light cherry nose, slightly dusty and bready. The taste is in short, sweet cherry fighting with a strong (but not the strongest I’ve encountered) chili finish and aftertaste. Actually quite drinkable despite the persistent burn. Finally a chili beer that I didn’t dislike (the last one was that chocolate chili beer).

Draught at the brewpub. Black body, very dark brown. Small off white head. Acidic tobaccoey nose, some sweetish prunes. Strong coffee taste, acidic, sweet, some propolis. Odd but, again, nice enough and different, though hardly my favorite at the brewpub.

The lady at the brewpub called it a "Prussian beer specialty". Ok, I believe her, though I’ve never heard of such a beer before in Germany. Anyway, Poured a murky yellow body with a medium sized white head. Very light lemony, slightly yeasty nose. Nice smooth taste, lemony and bubblegummy, very light overall, maybe too light but the fruitiness underneath everything is truly lovely. Ah, well.

Draught at the brewpub. The recipe has changed slightly I guess. Poured a bronze body with a small white off white head. Soft malty nose, sweetish. Hm. Light sweetish raubt.. I mean rauchbier, quite subdued smokeyness, light pancetta near the end, somewhat sweaty. The smoke is a little too light but it’s nice enough.

Draught at the brewpub. Poured a misty dark, almost blackish brown body. Tan head. Odd nose, curry(!) and coffee, sweetish. Medium bodied, curry again and coffee, roasty. Dry. Quite interesting, wonder where the curryish note came from. Eh.

Draught at the brewpub. Poured a misty copper colour... heck, this was probably darker than some dunkels I’ve had in Berlin. Fruity and herbal hop in the nose, some yeastiness. Sweetish earthy taste, light notes of orange, grainy and perfumey. Not stellar but very drinkable. This brewpub showed promise at the very start.

On tap. Hazy and opaque orangey golden with a nice, off-white head leaving laces. Aroma of fruit with a very discreet smoky edge. Medium body with sweet fruit accents and again only a discreet whiff of smoke. A little low in carbonation. Fairly bitter finish. Not much of a Bock really, and not very smoky either. 090109
