Can from the lcbo. Dark amber, big almost beige head. Lots of biscuity malts, sweet bread, boozy, sherry notes. Sticky, resinous pine notes, hints of candied citrus peel. Very sweet, and boozy over the top beer. Pretty messy if you as me. This is a cross between a Barley wine and a double ipa, leaning towards Barley wine. Medium bitterness, super sweet, malty, slightly nutty finish with alot of resinous pine. Not great, but leaps and bounds above the previous incarnation.

Dark clear amber pour, with a big beige head. Big hoppy notes, some sweet orange zest, dark, sweet, sticky tropical fruit, and just plain stiky syrup notes. Maybe some subtle pine resins, and some belgian yeastiness. The body is thick, even a little oily, and the mouth feel is quite full. The finish is bready, a touch of caramel, and alot of sticky sweet citrus zest. The finish is also quite warming and boozy reminiscent of a strong belgian blonde. Good beer but too boozy, seems like everything new from this brewery is minimum 10%.

Can from the lcbo. Pours a slightly murky orange with a frothy off white head. Candied citrus zest, juicy citrus skins and light pine resins. Noticeable notes of orange, clementine, and grapefruit. Mouth feel and carb are nice but soft. Finish is medium bitter, light soapiness, citrus fades and allows alot of pine to finish the beer off.

On tap at the griffin in bracebridge. Hazy yellow pour, medium white head. Aroma is incredibly tart, with earthy sour lime, and light coriander and wheat. Mouth feel and carb are good. Finish is incredibly sour, reminiscent of raw lime juice with a big tart kick, and it dominates the beer.

Dark brown, medium beige head. Aroma is huge maple cookies, brunt brown sugar with some cocoa nibs. Smooth mouth feel, soft carb. The finish reminds me of a maple flavoured coffee. Kudos on making one of the best maple beers I’ve had, but holy hell is this sweet. Finishing a 750 is daunting.

Another pumpkin beer spice bomb. This is just not for me. The spices are over the top. It’s like I stuck my tongue into a bowl of cinnamon, cardamon, and nutmeg. The alcohol is well hidden though, so this one so it can really sneak up on you. The finish is quite dry, and there is next to no bitterness. Really it’s just a spice bomb, with not much else going on.

Aroma is super spicy, loads of pepper, and woody, oil cedar. Very earth, hops show off some subtle citrus and alot oily resins. The finish is all cedar, and very woody, with some sticky, semi sweet malts.

750 ml bottle. Clear copper pour, medium off white head. Very malty aroma, lots of caramels, sherry, light stone fruit, and quite a bit of alcohol. The hops are dim, and hard to find, just notes of light pine. The mouthfeel is syrupy, and the carb is very low. The finish is highly bitter, with more of the super sweet boozy malts. Hops are a little more prevalent in the finish with some resinous, sticky pine notes. All in all and old school dipa.

On tap at session muskoka. I think this beer has been taken out of retirement and been turned into a flavoured Porter. Soft roast, light coffee and a strong grape soda aroma. Cloyingly sweet, tastes like a mild cup of coffee with a big dollop of grape jelly in it. Not my bag.

Clear golden pour, big white head. Aroma is grassy and quite piney. Green, resinous hops. Perfect mouthfeel and a great carb. Incredibly Bitter, a biting citrus pith bitter. More fresh cut grass and some light wheat in the finish with with slight citrus. A nice beer but the intense bitterness will put off newbies.
