750ml bottle. Arcade Beers, Huddersfield. Very dark, reddy brown. Film and some bubbles of pale tan head. Nose has light roast malts. Fruit and nut chocolate. Soft, fruity, zesty hop. Taste sets off vinous, fruity sweet. Big, hoppy bitterness follows up. Very bitter. Oily and hop resins. Lots of body. Soft carbonation. Long, hop oily, bitter finish. As it stands this drinks like a big BIPA. Which is ok by me. Nice one.

Bottle from Cotteridge. consumed at home Sunday 17th January 2016 Smooth ultra smooth, lengthy creamy, rich indulgent beer. This is probably really strong but it’s deceptive it’s like being punched half heartedly by someone who doesn’t want to l, doesn’t really know what they’re doing and is wearing soft gloves, it makes you smile but you might feel it a bit tomorrow. Pitch black in colour with a huge soft, billowing creamy head. The nose is subtle but a touch of liquorice and chocolate leach out once this warms. It’s the same in the mouth, liquorice and chocolate show on a huge malty rich thick body. It’s really good, well made but deceptive in the strength department. A8 A5 T8 P4 Ov15 4.1

Gravity cask at the Cambridge Winter Ales Festival 2016. Deep amber/copper with a massive beige head. Very clear. Scent of pine, mango, bubblegum and a bit of apple. The sweetness in the taste is drowned out by the intensity of the hoppy bitterness which lingers in the back of the throat. A strong English bitter with a massive US influence.

Gravity cask at Cambridge Winter Ales Festival 2016. Purplish black, opaque. Smells of bitter chocolate, buttered popcorn, salted caramel, raspberries and naked alcohol. Bitterness in the taste but there’s a sweet caramel-chew note. Full gooey palate, with maple syrup in the finish despite the aggressive bitterness. Splendid.

On tap at Winterbierfestival Gouda 2016. Clear, dark brownish amber with a medium large, creamy, slowly diminishing, tan head. Sweetish-malty, slightly spicy aroma of caramel, brown sugar and nuts. Sweetish-malty, slightly spicy taste of toffee, brown sugar, nuts and cinnamon, followed by a short, slightly bitter, spicy finish. Medium body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, flat. Nice!
