Description
The Gueuzerie Tilquin began operations in February 2009. It was 12 years that a new gueuze-producer had emerged in Brabant (the previous was Geuzestekerij De Cam in Gooik, which began in 1997).

The Gueuzerie Tilquin is the first gueuze blendery in Wallonia. The company is located in Bierghes (Rebecq), 200 meters from the linguistic border, and is directed by Pierre Tilquin. Pierre is bio-engineer and holder of a PhD in statistical genetics. He then followed an intensive course in brewing science in Leuven, and he had his experience at the brewery Huyghe (Melle), 3 Fonteinen (Beersel) and Cantillon (Anderlecht).

Draught at Moeder Lambic, Fontainas
Hazy golden color, with small but creamy head. Deep and dry aroma of cellar and cobwebs, Bretts; some ammonia, and light hazelnuts. Dry mouthfeel, with some citrusy acidity and some hidden malt. Well balanced, very pleasant, refreshing.

375 ml bottle. 4.8% version. Cloudy gold, medium white head, solid lacing. Aroma of dusty lemon citrus, stone fruits, animals. Taste has grapefruit and lemon. More complex than the draught version. Nice character and complexity.

Draught Huge, off-white dense head, over yellow beer, leaving shards of lace. Malts, citric, lemon and very "Bretty". Real gueuze flavour, citric as few, but surprisingly much less Cantillon-like than the bottled version. Light to medium bodied, obvious wheatslickness, very refreshing. Great, and interesting different version.

Bottle @ home, shared with DutchDrebus. Hazy yellow color, average white head. Smell sour and a little musty. Decent sour taste though carbo and body are a little disappointing.

375 ml bottle from Ohtsuki. Nice leather, lemon, slight soap, dust nose. Well integrated. Bright deepngolden, very effervescent, tall, fine head. Well sour flavor, lemony, with leather, salt, and dust. Very crisp and tasty, with quite a bit of sweetness in there as well, but a dry, bitter finish. Straightforward and good. Not the most complex gueuze maybe, but very nice. Very well carbonated.       Bottle at Chriso’s shared by Chriso, 2011. Pretty peach orange to pink color with lace. Huge tangy lemon and lmon zest nose. Yeah! Sweet-and-sour flavor, quite sweet and fruity, actually, maybe too much so, with restrained sourness and reasonably complex. 8/3/7/4/15

Bottle at chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig ’11. It pours hazy yellow-orange, with a decent off-white head and moderate carbonation. The nose is farmyard, lemon, lime and sour green apple. The taste is sour green apple, lemon, lime, pear, ripe sweet red apple, peach and wood, with a dry, tart finish. Great balance and very, very drinkable. Ticks all the boxes this one does. I wouldn’t have a problem polishing off a few bottles of this by myself.

Säuerlicher, fast etwas salziger Antrunk. Wenig herb, trocken und holzig (passend). Frisch, die Säure ist ausgewogen. Bitter-säuerliches Finish, adstringent. Nett! 10/12/11/13//12
