Description
The Gueuzerie Tilquin began operations in February 2009. It was 12 years that a new gueuze-producer had emerged in Brabant (the previous was Geuzestekerij De Cam in Gooik, which began in 1997).

The Gueuzerie Tilquin is the first gueuze blendery in Wallonia. The company is located in Bierghes (Rebecq), 200 meters from the linguistic border, and is directed by Pierre Tilquin. Pierre is bio-engineer and holder of a PhD in statistical genetics. He then followed an intensive course in brewing science in Leuven, and he had his experience at the brewery Huyghe (Melle), 3 Fonteinen (Beersel) and Cantillon (Anderlecht).

375 ml bottle from Ohtsuki. Nice leather, lemon, slight soap, dust nose. Well integrated. Bright deepngolden, very effervescent, tall, fine head. Well sour flavor, lemony, with leather, salt, and dust. Very crisp and tasty, with quite a bit of sweetness in there as well, but a dry, bitter finish. Straightforward and good. Not the most complex gueuze maybe, but very nice. Very well carbonated.       Bottle at Chriso’s shared by Chriso, 2011. Pretty peach orange to pink color with lace. Huge tangy lemon and lmon zest nose. Yeah! Sweet-and-sour flavor, quite sweet and fruity, actually, maybe too much so, with restrained sourness and reasonably complex. 8/3/7/4/15

Bottle at chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig ’11. It pours hazy yellow-orange, with a decent off-white head and moderate carbonation. The nose is farmyard, lemon, lime and sour green apple. The taste is sour green apple, lemon, lime, pear, ripe sweet red apple, peach and wood, with a dry, tart finish. Great balance and very, very drinkable. Ticks all the boxes this one does. I wouldn’t have a problem polishing off a few bottles of this by myself.

(Bottle, 0.375 l, at Gastropub Tuulensuu, 20110719) The beer poured orange and cloudy. Its head was small and white. Aroma had sourness, grapefruit, vomit and fruitiness. Palate was medium bodied and a little bit dry with medium carbonation. Flavours were sourness, grapefruit, fruitiness, wood and bitterness. Aftertaste was sour, woody and fruity. A very good mixture of lambics from four sources letting their styles to show and still being original. I hope to be able to try more.

Bottled. Hazy golden, rich head. Enormous cobweb and barnyard aroma. Citric and lemony. Dry and soft with medium body. Drie Fonteinen-like relaxed softness, blanced citric acidity. Superbly drinkabkle and vastin character.

Bottled 750ml (PBF, vintage 2011)
Hazy orange color, small white head. Tart fruity Cantillon-like aroma. Medium-bodied. Tart, leathery and fruity flavor. Very good drinkability. Lingering tartness in the aftertaste. I think Cantillon dominates in this blend. Super.
