The Gueuzerie Tilquin is the first gueuze blendery in Wallonia. The company is located in Bierghes (Rebecq), 200 meters from the linguistic border, and is directed by Pierre Tilquin. Pierre is bio-engineer and holder of a PhD in statistical genetics. He then followed an intensive course in brewing science in Leuven, and he had his experience at the brewery Huyghe (Melle), 3 Fonteinen (Beersel) and Cantillon (Anderlecht).

Cask at Chez Moeder Lambic Fontainas as part of my Pre-Wedding Celebrations. It pours slightly hazy golden yellow, with a thin white head. The nose is orange, tangy nectarine, peach, farmyard and wood. The taste is farmyard, wood, orange, tart peach, nectarine, lemon, touch of sweet pear, egg white sourness, with a dry-tart finish. Medium body, moderate carbonation and prickly mouth-feel. Great balance. Delicious draft gueuze.

On tap at Avenue Pub. Pours a cloudy yellow gold with large creamy white head leaving sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is citrus, clove and spice. Medium mouthfeel with a dry fruit and cereal with a nice light dry finish. A very impressive Gueuze from Tilquin.

Finally! Hazy dark straw. The aroma is quite leathery adn the more you inhale the more baby poop pedio you get. Tart and leathery, then citrus and wood. Finishes austere woody and dry, and very leathery. Good gueuze.

Orange golden colour, small white head. Malty aroma, slightly dusty, brett, silage, quite tart. Quite tart flavour, floral, apricot, citrus zest. And, lacking a better description, Cantillon touches. Very nice flavour, and in the mouth all comes together better than just through the nose. Finish dry, much like a good champagne. Very nice.

Golden orange with a bright white head. Fruity aroma of citrus, fresh lemon zest, light wood, and a healthy dose of the funk. Acidic flavor, lemons, citric, light musty wood, funky tones, and a bit of grass. Lively carbonation. Oh boy, this is a good one.

Bottle @ home. Cloudy golden orange appearance with a big orangish white head. Huge funky, musty, somewhat acidic, lemon/citrusy sour, mild hay, barnyard aroma. Pretty sour, tangy lemon/orange citrusy, fairly funky, slight basement, musty, moderately funky flavor. Pretty tasty gueuze that’s quite easy drinking though maybe not quite as complex as some of its siblings.

One fierce face-burner of a gueuze, this bottle has a wondrously tart mean streak, yet finishes bubbly and bready and moderately warm. The sourness isn’t too unhinged, but this baby does pack a kick. The sourness doesn’t quickly retreat, either, sticking around until it morphs into a yeasty fade. Might be a little banana flavor in there too. Oh wait. I’m eating a banana. That’s right. Another selection from the War on Christmas.

Bottle at Chriso Patriks Bday tasting. Well rounded grapefruit and lemon. Woody flavour. Well done blend. Its got a good fresh lemony edge. Maybe too lemony for me. Quite harshly acidic on finish.3.9 wow really rate so sexy I cannot say. Soft and beautiful
