Description
Yvan DE BAETS and Bernard LEBOUCQ meet each other in 2002, during the second edition of the Zinnekparade. Bernard had created the now famous ZINNEBIR for this unique Brussels event. However, it took another five years for BRASSERIE DE LA SENNE to settle effectively in the capital. In the meantime, the brewing activities were continued at friendly breweries. This bohemian existence came to an end on December 22, 2010, the date of the very first 100% Brussels brew!

330 ml bottle from Etre Gourmet. Orange, medium hazy body, with a big, creamy head.
Aroma of pineapple, spicy herbs, grass, pine, dough. Tastes similar.
Medium mouthfeel, with a moderate carboantion. Finishes moderately bitter, fruity, grassy, piney.
Very quaffable and perfectly balanced, as always, with clean, bright pineapple notes and interesting herbal and grassy notes.

330mL bottled Feb 3, 2026, drunk May 6, 2026.
Bright and fragrant with a clean, clear, spicy hop and supportive malt despite its small stature. Bit of lemon-lime, hint of cookie-like malt. Easygoing. Other than the slight floral character from the hop, not all that redolent of Taras Boulba, but half the size makes it a completely different beast.
Light and very, very drinkable. Not thin in the least. More maltiness than many beers two-to-three times its size, though not too malty. Perfume and fresh cut grass, or lilac if you will. Much more Taras Boulba in the mouth than nose, just not quite the intensity of that one, obviously. Still, for its size, it doesn't get much more flavorful. Kind of reminds of Guineu Riner, but this is a lot more polished than most batches of that were (no chalky dry hop or big earthiness here). Lingering honey and fresh cut grass. Lovely, of course.

ABV noted at 7.2%. Great beer. Some slight balsamic. Modest acidity. Aged berries, toasted wood. Wonderful depth, complexity for the strength. Has some salty, twangy bite in the aftertaste, but of fruity sweetness. Highly drinkable sauce.

Hay and a hint of lemon peel. Pours clear golden with decent head. Pretty clean finish. Not a ton of flavour to this, but easy drinking at least. Tap at Shelter.
