Description
Yvan DE BAETS and Bernard LEBOUCQ meet each other in 2002, during the second edition of the Zinnekparade. Bernard had created the now famous ZINNEBIR for this unique Brussels event. However, it took another five years for BRASSERIE DE LA SENNE to settle effectively in the capital. In the meantime, the brewing activities were continued at friendly breweries. This bohemian existence came to an end on December 22, 2010, the date of the very first 100% Brussels brew!

Pours a very dark brown under an off-white, stable , medium sized head. Scent is Roasty, mild but present brett- not overpowering at all. A certain 'freshnes' to it. Taste is full, dry and sharp, brett gives it some funk, but the aroma's are more dominant on the roasty side. Not at all ashy, actually quite pleasantly roasted, with tones of coffee, chocolate, and what reminds me of charred oak (though this is not oak aged at all?) Higher carbonation than I'd prefer, but that's brett for ya. Easy drinking, somehow refreshing - especially for a porter. Dry, mildly bitter. Pleasant !

Tap at Malto, Riccione, Italy. Pours dark gold, scarcely transparent, with fine white foam. Aroma is a little herbaceous and yeasty. Body and carbonation are average. Taste is medium bitter, with some malty sweetness behind. Final is fairly long, herbaceous and earthy.

From backlog. Bottle drunk upon release back in 2013 or so.
Dark, black, clear. Small, dark beige head, good retention.
Big and hoppy with rich malts and not too overdone on the dark malts. Lots of plastery, mineral-rich yeast and a lingering chocolate and PNW-like character redolent of the real thing. Clean, no booze.
Sweet, malty but with Belgian esters and phenols drying things nicely towards the end. Mineral and plaster with light cocoa dusting and a reasonable, but not overdone hoppiness.

Bottled Feb 18, 2021, drunk Jul 27, 2025.
Clear, soft, brassy-blonde with a large, dense, white head that recedes steadily to cover.
Lovely Brett mixing with earthy and funky Sacch. in the nose. Hops still present showing fresh herb and floral accents. Rich malt below it shows white bread and light caramel. Comes together pretty well and certainly highlights the hops, even if the malt is a bit too present for my liking.
Similar in the flavor, with a caramel flavor that they seem to always keep in the beer every year. Floral hops with some unripe stone fruit, fruity Brett and interesting Sacch. Brett hasn't over-attenuated the beer, which is nice.

Helder lichtgeel bier met schuim wat snel inzakt. Smaak is bitterzoet met iets van mango, wat abrikoos, bloemen en wat hop. Mondgevoel is wat waterig en zwak, desondanks een heel redelijk en smaakvol bier.

0,33l bottle at home courtesy of Saeglopur, big thanks. Bottled 07. August 2024. BB 07. May 2025. straw yellow cloudy color, small white head. Smells grassy, earthy, leathery, some brett, peppery, some spices. very nice smell. light body, soft carbonation. Tastes citric, earthy, flowery, peppery, some brett, leathery, tobacco, some herbs. Finishes lightly dry and light to medium bitter with notes of brett, pepper and leathery notes. very nice one, great complexity, easy to drink yet quite enough going for it. finish trails away a bit, but this could be related to freshness. Overall very good one.

Amberkleurig bier met veel stevig schuim. Smaak is bitter hoppig met de typische brett smaak waar ik nog steeds wat aan moet wennen. Verder iets van droog fruit als bessen en pruimen.

Bottles from House Of Trembling Madness and
The Beerhive. All were (slight) gushers. Hazy deep golden body with an off-white head. Lively carbonation. Patchy lacing. Aroma of brett funk, pine and lemon drops. Flavour of salted red apple, sherbet and rhubarb. Medium body with a frothy mouthfeel. Light fizz. The flavour is intense and delicious.
