Description
Firestone Walker Brewing Company began innocently enough: two brothers-in-law—Adam Firestone and David Walker—debating the subject of good and bad beer. Their search for a decent local ale finally led them to brew their own starting in 1996. The original Firestone Walker brewery was located in a converted shed on the family vineyard, where they experienced no shortage of trials and tribulations. From these humble beginnings was born one of the world’s most decorated breweries.
At Firestone Walker, Beer Before Glory is our mantra for reminding ourselves we do what we do because of the beer. Period. It’s our battle cry to never accept well enough. It’s the high aim for a perfect beer we will never make. Beer Before Glory is our craft, ever honed on the stone of humility.

Bottle: Poured a deep brown color ale with a medium size off-white foamy head with OK retention and light lacing. Aroma of caramelized malt notes with light peppery notes and with faint residual sugar notes with some whiskey notes. Taste is also a mix of caramelized malt, some peppery notes with some balanced residual sugar notes and some whiskey barrel notes with a dry finish. Body is about average for style with good carbonation and the 15% ABV is well hidden. Enjoyable strong ale with a good balance of complexity and drinkability.

Bottle, 2024 vintage. Cinnamon aroma with notes of gingerbread, roasted malt, chocolate, vanilla, bourbon, waffle cone and oak. Pours deep brown with a thin mocha brown head that has little retention and very little lacing. Starts with rich roasted malt, chocolate, waffle cone and oak flavors as well as having a rich, full body and slick, viscous mouthfeel. Finishes impeccably smooth with bourbon, gingerbread, cinnamon and vanilla flavors. Excellent variation on a classic.
