Can from Tesco, Reading. Grubby, murky pale amber brew with a thin white head. Lovely tropical fruit whiff; taste is similar but more muted. The cardboardy bitterness clashes a bit with the sweet fruits, and it's a tad thin. It's pleasant enough, but below Buxton's normal high standards and therefore rather disappointing.

Can. Buxton online. Hazed slightly dirty gold. Sticky sudsy white foam. Nose has decent citrusy notes. Orange and lime cordial. Bit of zest. Malts barely getting a look in. Taste is semi sweet with a below usual bitterness for a Buxton pale. Easy drinking albeit a little low on carbonation and body. Light dry-ish bitter finish. Decent enough.

Can. Buxton online. Clear deep amber red. Slim sticky foam with a few suds. Nose has nutty mulch like malts and blackberry forward hop leaf notes. Taste is nutty sweet with an inevitable hit of, in this case leafy and slightly herbal, Buxton bitterness. Lots of flavour and good depth for the 4.1. Excellent best bitter that part way makes up for a couple of cans of shite I’ve had from the same order.
