Dunkertons Cider
Cidery
in Charlton Kings,
Gloucestershire,
England 🏴
Associated with 2 Venues
Established in 1980
Description
Founded in Herefordshire.
Pressed, fermented, and bottled in Gloucestershire.
Dunkertons history reaches back to 1980 when Ivor and Susie Dunkerton made the decision to escape London and buy a small holding in Pembridge, Herefordshire. They realised that with such a small amount of land they needed to specialise in some form of agriculture and spotted that traditional cider making presented a fantastic opportunity.
In 2014 Ivor and Susie passed Dunkertons to their son Julian and his business partner Bean.
In 2016 the production business relocated to our new state of the art cidery at Dowdeswell Park, Cheltenham.

Melig appelsapje met veel tannines, takjes, uienvellen, ge-dry-tenenkaas-d. Boergondies genieten. Mooie zachte eenheid met van alles wat, zoet, bitter, funk, en fruitzuur mooi op de achtergrond. Proeft gerijpt en smaakt naar rust en roest. Prima spul.

6.8% Sweet mushy & meally apples, applesauce with a little dash of apple vinegar. Sweet, dry peels, light vinagrous tart edge. Medium body and soft carbonation. Very basic very English, no warmth or funk or wild tannin complexity, but very easy drinkable.

A somewhat compressed gamut of aromas, containing fruitsugars, sweet apple and meally pear, some moss or light herbal/vegetal woody tannin notes. But mostly just clean and tight apple forward. Medium sweet and light tart & bitter. Soft carbonation. --- Beer merged from original tick of Craft - Organic Medium Cider on 30 Jan 2021 at 23:40 - Score: 7. Golden colour, short-lived foam white head and aroma of mucky funk, fruity apple. Taste is bittersweet apple, orchardy, leathery, barnyard funky, with citric hints and lots of drying earthy tannins. Medium bodied, fine soft carbonation, medium-dry mellow tannic finish. Very drinkable. 500ml bottle, gold, nice short lived white head. Aroma of barnyard funky apples, wood and alcohol. Taste is semi-sweet, slightly bitter apples, woody, fruity, tannins. Moderately dry. Well made cider

500ml bottle. Clear gold, brief head, quite fizzy. Aroma is light funky pears, wood and alcohol. Taste is semi-sweet, tart pear, dry fruity and wood noted finish. Medium bodied and a lighter more gentle fizz on the palate than expected, which was nice. Good.

Bottle. Favourite Beers, Cheltenham. Mostly clear, dark straw colour. No head. Nose has some savoury smoke. Touch of vanilla. Some leather. Baked apple. Taste has smoky sweetness. Light tannic acidity. Soft carbonation. Sweet and smoky finish. Be nice if they mentioned which county it was made in. What would Ivor think?
