Description
The Moab Brewery was founded in 1996 by John Borkoski (John is also the founder of a brewery in McCall, Idaho) and Dave Sabey (Dave appreciates a good beer anywhere!). Together with their partners, John and Dave have created an oasis in the desert. Moab Brewery is proud to be Moab’s only microbrewery. The beautiful and unique landscape in and around Moab provides inspiration for our fresh, hand-crafted ales.

16oz can from the local grocery store
Appearance: Pours clear dark amber with a nice sized beige head that dissipates fairly quickly leave some lacing
Aroma: Toasted malts, yeasty, nutty and grassy
Taste: Toasted malts, yeasty, caramel, nutty with a bitter grassy finish. Leaves a mild sweetness in my mouth
Not bad. If it wasn’t for some mild sweetness, this would be a great summer beer.

Rated this last night on paper. Another big bottle (1 qt. 0.815 oz, to be exact) shared with brenn79, this one a swingtop. Aroma is a little peaty, malty, biscuity. Pours cloudy orange with a large off-white lacy head with great retention. Taste is sweet and a little tart; lightly smoky with some fruity esters. Leaves a nice lingering caramelly aftertaste. Body could be fuller, carbonation is soft. It’s pretty good but I wish it was more smoky. This beer got a lot better as it warmed up. The caramel became more prounounced and yummy.

Draught. Dark brown. The aroma is quite rich, chocolatey with light oatiness. Full-bodied. Lots of hop bitterness, chocolate and oatmeal sweetness. Great balance. Quality stout.

Bottle thanks to Douglas. Poured a clear amber with a gold hue and a near white head that dissipated to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of bread and biscuit with a backing pine note that has a hint of resin. Flavor starts with bread and grain with a bit of growing sweetness and hint of resin bitterness in the finish.
