Description

33 cl. bottle @ home. Procured from Willems. Bottled on 26/03/2014. Furniture / wood brown, big creamy tanned head. Heavy liquorish smell, furniture, polish & lots of leaves, eh. Bitter leaves, allspice, light anis, liquorish, varnish, furniture, polish taste, mineral feel to it. Mineral, faint metallic, touch fizzy body. Okay but far from top in the executed style, there are a lot of middling beers like this in Belgium & I expected something better from De Leite. I’m used to much better from them.

Foamfountain nearly ruining my smartphone, laptop and desk upon opening. Points lost. Turns into not very stable off-white head, first fluffy later more dense (then gone) over orange beer with every enzyme and yeastcell evenly distributed in the volume. Herbal, hoppy and yeasty nose. Fresh garden herbs, wild hops. Flavour of bitter but nice hops, and something remotely reminiscent of Brett-beers (Orval springs to mind). Faint saltiness (olives?) , bit of band-aid. Some pale malts. Very spritzy, even fizzy MF, light body, aftertaste is very ghostly. Certainly not a bad beer - I’d loved to have more than half a glass (left). My friend, I’m used to more skill from you.
