Poured into a pint glass at the brewpub, the appearance was a brown clear color, sly transparency, and a quickly dissipating head. No lace.
The aroma had a fair amount of nutty malts, almost almond character. Sly earthiness, some wood.
The flavor was basically the same with a sly woody to nutty sweet balanced aftertaste leading into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a super nice sessionably smooth feel rolling about it. Low carbonation.
Overall, nice Scottish ale. Could have again with a bacon cheeseburger nicely.

Poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a ruddy dark burnt orange brown color with a one finger white foamy head that quickly dies off. No lacing.
The aroma starts off with a sweet caramel to toffee malt. Light roast. Some toast. Some peat. Subtle smoke.
The flavor rides nicely between the sweetness and the smoke. Subtle earthy dryness levels into the aftertaste and slides into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionable smooth semi-sticky smokey clinginess on my tongue.
Overall, pretty good scotch ale or is this supposed to be a Scottish ale, that smoke and peatiness, well, makes me wonder.

Poured into a pint glass, the appearance was a dark ruddy amber color with a thin finger’s worth of white foamy head. Messy lacing.
The aroma starts off with a rich earthy to toasty and caramel smell to it. Light grassy hops.
The flavor brings all of the previously mentioned aromas together and has a sharp dried earthiness with the malts in the aftertaste and then the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nicesessionability about it. Low carbonation lets it be almost cloying, but ends up escaping that.
Overall, good Amber ale that I would have again.

On tap at the brewpub.
They poured this into a pilsener, despite incorrect glassware, I still got what they were looking at doing, here’s the rest.
The appearance was a dark burnt amber/orange color, almost brown. Bar pour’s kind of slim white head. Quickly dissipated. Light lacing.
The smell had the old school sweet caramel malty toffee goodness going on. With some sweet citrus hops intertwining to a nice balance.
The taste was mainly the same as the smell. Light sweet malty aftertaste. Wet sweet finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. Carbonation runs fairly smooth and light. Malts aren’t sticky but somewhat clingy.
Overall, old school DIPA appeal, I could see myself coming back to it.

On tap at the brewpub.
This was poured into a flared tulip.
The appearance was a nice looking hazy burnt dark orange to brown color with a slim finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated immediately. Trickling lace. Looked nice.
The smell started off with the sweet rich malty tones of a scotch ale and then slides into the cherries. Sour, well, not so much, but slightly.
The taste was mainly the sweetness up front of the malts. Quick malty aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. Carbonation runs fairly light and smooth. Malts hit more than the sour cherry. Still feels good for the most part.
Overall, I like the idea behind it, but, if they’re looking to do something different by making it sour, well, the sour is quite tame. Maybe again.

On tap at the brewpub.
This was poured into a pilsener glass.
The appearance was a nice looking hazy dark amber, almost pink color. Nice frothy white head. Slow dissipation.
The smell had some tart cherries, semi-sweet yet sour. Underscore of citrus. Sweet to sour grapes. The taste was mainly the same bringing together the tart and the sweet and the sour. Citrus to sour cherry aftertaste. Semi-smooth wet sour cherry finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a pretty good sessionability about it. Carbonation runs fairly light. Sour harshness hits my tongue just right.
Overall, fruit beer or sour beer, doesn’t really matter too much to me as I’d say this was very good and I’m sure to come back to.

On tap at brewpub.
This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a nice looking dark brown close to black color with a one finger creamy colored head that dissipated at a nice pace. Nice looking creamy lace.
The smell had a beautiful sweet to roasty coffee to malty chocolate colliding together extremely nicely.
The taste was mainly sweet with an underscore of the roast to balance. Light roasty sweet coffee to chocolate aftertaste. Smooth sweet finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a spectacular sessionability about it. Carbonation runs smooth and light allowing the creaminess to slide over my tongue in an awesome way.
Overall, what’s Guinness, hmmm, no need to drink that when in this part of Vermont, drink this instead.

On tap at brewpub itself.
This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a nice looking hazy burnt orange color with a slim finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute leaving some light lacing on the glass. The smell started off with some sweet grassy hops rolling over on some semi-sweet citrus hops, definitely playing a subtle low-key effect over some sweet malt.
The taste was mainly grassy sweet through the hops.Light underscore of malts to play with the sweetness yet still have enough oomph from the bitterness to show some effect in the aftertaste and finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it.
Overall, I say this was a pretty good AIPA that I could have again.

Growler from the brewery, 7/5/15, consumed at the drive-in
Pours a mostly clear light yellow color. Tart aroma. A little fruity. Gets somewhat sour as well, though not as much as others in the style. Solid.

Thought this was a decent one with an alright hop flavor, but it just felt slightly flawed and a little unexciting.
