Description
Land & Labour is a side project from Galway Bay Brewery head brewer, Tom Delaney, focused in sour and wild beers. Their aim is to create mixed fermentation beers with Bretts and wild yeasts, without reaching a high acidity. They have created a separated environment for this side project, and imported aged foeders from Italy, France or Switzerland. It was started in 2018, and their first available references where presented in 2020.

Bottle. Color: Lightly hazy orangish golden, thin white head. Aroma: Yart, gooseberries, subtle funky. Taste: Moderaye to over moderate tart, farmyard-like wild yeast funk, fruity gooseberry and sour apple, some citrus, quite some wood and tannins. Dry, astringent mouthfeel. Medium body, just below average carbonation. Geuze-like. Nice one.

Bottle. Color: Lightly hazy golden, fast disappearing small white head. Aroma: White grape, sweet and tart. Taste: Fruity white grape, sweet and tart white beriies, subtle citrus and light hints of stone fruit. Subtle oak wood, some Saison yeast hints. Wild yeast funk. Moderate tart and light to moderate sweet. Medium body, Average carbonation, which is too much for this kind of beer in my opinion and takes away some of the flavours. (Edit: Gets better when standing longer) Overall quite nice though.

Keg at Beavertown during Six Degrees of Beaveration, February 2018. Pours lightly hazy orange with a bubbly, white head. The aroma holds grains and biscuits, white wine, faint vanilla. Light to medium sweet flavour with further pale grains, pine needles, biscuits, straw. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Lightly warming finish, some wheat flakes, faint lemon. So so. Not the best execution.

Bottle. Hazy golden color with white head. Aroma is lemony, earthy, bright. Taste is lemony, grapefruit, red apples, mild tannins in the back. Mineraly mouthfeel with sparkly carbonation. A bit simple overall, but not bad!
