Clear dark brown to black beer, big creamy beige head, unstable, a bit adhesive. Aroma: lots and lots of green coffee, some alcohol, roasted, charcoal. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: bit sourish, lots of roast, some alcohol, green coffee, bitter. Aftertaste: a bit oxidized, lots of coffee, alcohol, a bit sharp, dry, charcoal. Not getting much bourbon…

Clear dark brown to black beer, small creamy beige head, a little stable, non adhesive. Aroma: woody, lots of red wine, wood notes, a little sharp. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: pretty dry, bitter, lots of red wine, tannins, grapeskins, gentle roast, alcohol, a bit oxidised, refreshing touch. Aftertaste: dry, a bit acidic, earthy, slightly sweet touch, like a Flemish Red Ale, some tannins, nice! No vanilla though, I guess 7 years is a bit long for real vanilla.

MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: oooh, lovely, slightly sweet, lots of chocolate, a bit sugary, caramel, a bit of coffee, pretty bitter, charcoal. Aftertaste: sweet, whisky, bourbon, some vanilla, lovely roast, lots of chocolate, some coffee, nice!

Clear dark brown to black beer, small to no head, just some big brownish bubbles, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: lots of alcohol, sharp, solvents, phenols, some green apples. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: good roast, a bit sharp, alcohol, bitter, coffee, charcoal, very dark roast, a bit too much. Aftertaste: pretty sharp, alcoholic, a bit oxidized, good roast, caramel, sugary, bitter, green apple, a bit sourish, ok, not great, good thing it has some age on it, but it’s still very sharp.

Clear dark brown beer, creamy beige head, unstable, falls down quickly, non adhesive. Aroma: very malty, grains, good roast, dried fruits, chocolate notes. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: lovely, good roast, a little sweet, lots of chocolate, malty, soft acidity, more malts, nice, good stuff! Aftertaste: a bit oxidized, leathery, nice, slightly metallic, chocolate, lovely!

Clear red brown beer, small creamy off-white head, unstable, a bit adhesive. Aroma: lovely, very malty, caramel, a little nutty, dried fruits, lovely! MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: nice, very malty, a bit sweet, caramel, soft roast, chocolate, bitter. Aftertaste: very clean, malty, good hoppy finish, dried fruits, gentle roast, very nice one, perfectly executed doppelbock!

Clear light yellow beer, small creamy white head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: a bit fruity, very yeasty, lots of banana, coriander. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: yeasty, some banana, wheat, soft acidity, coriander. Aftertaste: lots of coriander, wheat, nice enough!

Brune foncée, col huileux doré au verre, col café au lait, pas vraiment tenace.
Arôme sur un bouquet marqué par le smalts - pas mal de chocolat, café, léger vanille, un peu effet 'industrial rubber glove' - pomme verte.
Palais est sur une base malt assez épais - boozy marqué, chocolaté, café, le bourbon est bien là avec une touche délicate de vanille - cependant, ce volet vanillé ajouté s'est tout bonnement dissipé avec les années. Note un peu sauce soja - effervescence faiblarde, pomme verte, acétyle?
Probablement la moins aboutie de cette série que nous avons pu déguster cette soirée.

Dorée assez clair, col fin blanc.
Arôme de suite sur un bouquet marqué par les bretts - floral avec un support de fruits verts - et certain note de rustique. Cela vient osciller sur un côté Chardonnay qui se laisse noter aussi en bouche.
Palais reste assez axé sur les bretts - le tout vient rappeler ces farmhouse d'antan - Crooked Stave vient à l'esprit. Sec marqué en bouche avec un léger côté fruité qui se lie aux bretts - rappel de groseille verte à maquereau, unripe kiwi et un effet presque de léger poivre blanc concassé. A noter une belle tenue de bouche pour une bière avoisinant les 8 ans.

Brune foncée, quais noire, col fin café au lait.
Arôme sur un bouquet chargé en malts - le café est là et apporte une belle profondeur toasté/grillé, le tout sublimé par un léger chocolat/cacao et une note plus subtile de la barrique - vanille.
Palais sur une belle effervescence, café bien placé, rehaussé par le Bourbon et se léger caractère vanillé - la barrique reste par ailleurs présente tout au long. Léger effet de grains, céréales, chocolaté, cacao avec une petite note de fruits noirs en retrait.
