Description
Just as many others brewers, Kevin started brewing solely for fun and curiosity. After a while, the urge to share his brews with more people than only close friends, made him decide to go official with his “ Small Batch Brewery”. Stubborn as he is, he wanted to keep the whole brewing process in his own hands so every single one of his brews will be brewed in house. That doesn’t exclude doing some collaboration brews in the future. But every beer wearing the Malcroys label will have the same dedication and “no compromise approach” as the beers being brewed in his own tiny brew kettle. Being small has advantages and disadvantages. You can’t brew big volumes and thus reaching a big audience is not easy. On the other hand, brewing on such small scale gives a lot of freedom to experiment, brew crazy beers or try ancient or strange techniques other bigger brewers cannot afford due to scale or time. That is what makes a small batch brewery so special; that is what Malcroy Brewing will try to do. Brewing special, honest beers, one small batch at a time.

Bottle. Color: Murky brown, very thin beige head. Aroma: Spicy. Taste: Fruity Pumpkin, a ;lot of spicy nutmeg, cinnamon and allspice. Roasted pumpkin. Moderate sweet and light fruity sourness. Subtle notes of Bourbon (BourbRum), vanilla giving this beer a nice sweetish contrast. Oak wood. Light hints of smoke. Definitely the most complex Pumpkin beer I've had so far. A lot of spices, but that's not disturbing me this time. Nice Winter Season beer. More of this, please!

Bottle. Color: Lightly hazy red copper, very thin beige head. Aroma: Strong peat. Malty. Taste: Malty, strong peat, some caramel. Hoppy, moderate bitter background. Earthy. Ash. Heavily smoked bacon. Light hints of dried fruit. Light to moderate sweet. Over medium body, just below average carbonation. You have to be a strong peat lover to like this beer. Malcroys (Kevin de Vos) knows what he's doing, so warnings are placed on the website and on the label. Luckily I am a peat lover. Great beer, Kevin!

Taste: lots of alcohol up front, chocolate, coffee, caramel, tonka, some almonds. Aftertaste: all tonka, good roast, little bitter, sugary, slightly sourish, good stuff, more tonka, I love it!

This was really delicious. Well balanced between the several main flavors. Unique in the stout world. I really like stouts with only natural flavors from basic ingredients and BA without adjuncts. Great!

Pours black, medium to medium large tanned head. Scent is simple, alcohol, not very complex nor balanced aroma's. Taste is sharp, boozy, barrel-bite, chewy. No very balanced. Sweet. OK.
