Description
Just as many others brewers, Kevin started brewing solely for fun and curiosity. After a while, the urge to share his brews with more people than only close friends, made him decide to go official with his “ Small Batch Brewery”. Stubborn as he is, he wanted to keep the whole brewing process in his own hands so every single one of his brews will be brewed in house. That doesn’t exclude doing some collaboration brews in the future. But every beer wearing the Malcroys label will have the same dedication and “no compromise approach” as the beers being brewed in his own tiny brew kettle. Being small has advantages and disadvantages. You can’t brew big volumes and thus reaching a big audience is not easy. On the other hand, brewing on such small scale gives a lot of freedom to experiment, brew crazy beers or try ancient or strange techniques other bigger brewers cannot afford due to scale or time. That is what makes a small batch brewery so special; that is what Malcroy Brewing will try to do. Brewing special, honest beers, one small batch at a time.

Very tasty and crisp IPA... Good balance betweens floral and bitter hops... Great! like to taste a "double" version of this 😉

Taster, lci. Good balance between malts and toasted flavors. Well done... 4 mashes isn't easy and a lot of work. Great... Brew this again Kevin. 😉

Pours black, no real head. Scent is chocolate, tonka, vanilla. ice cream. Taste is thick, chocolate, tonka, intense. Fullbodied, low to no carbo. Nice. Though I don't like amaretto at all - and I prefer not to have tonka in my beer - this truly is one of Kevin's best so far. Mostly due to the body ! I can enjoy dry beers, but Impy's to me need to be really thick -and yes, that means they're fairly sweet to. This is Malcroy's first actual (very) fullbodied beer to me, which I obviously didn't expect , but I truly love it ! Now lets hope that experiment 6 will be the same base, with different additions?

This is something else... How to rate this? Heavily spiced... way too much imho. Not balanced and too much going on. Where's the BA? ...not my cup of beer. No experience with pumpkin ales... will not finish this. Maybe my wife likes it? 😁

Pours a fairly clear, darker blonde. Small to very small white head. Scent is very refined, complex, grassy, tea elements even. Taste is very fine, green, grassy, complex, tea , bit tropical . Dank. Almost a hint of smokyness in the finish ( just a hint ! ) . Mild bitterness. Not bad at all ! interesting, very refined IPA. Not a smack-in-the-face as is popular and loved by many (including me) anno 2021 , but more of a fine, complex yet easy drinker.

17/XII/21 - 33cl bottle from Beerlovers Bar (Antwerpen), shared @ 77ship & Eve’s place, BB: 2/II/22 (2021-1582)
Clear orange beer, practically no head, unstable, dissipates quickly. Aroma: medicinal impression, orange peel, malty, some grains. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: malty start, some citrus notes, bit of grapefruit, lots of orange peel, hoppy bitterness. Aftertaste: dry, bit medicinal, nice bitterness, fruity touch, lots of caramel, malty. Definitely not what I was expecting...
