Description
Hill Farmstead Brewery is the culmination of many years of travel and insight—of experience and education—of friendships and explorations. The brewery is the revival and continuation of 220 years of Hill heritage and hand crafted history in North Greensboro, Vermont. Its logo is retrieved from a sign that once hung in Aaron Hill's (our great(x3) grandfather) tavern, just up the hill, in the early 1800s.

Bottled Nov 25, 2020, drunk 5/24/23. Dark, inky, small, tan head, low retention. Soft wheat, yet bourbony (not too much so), with light alcohol, pepper and graphite. Sweet chocolate and fudge with caramel and light vanilla. Bit of grape, prune, tobacco, more alcohol with warming though it's not hot. Soft, wheat-forward with a slick, easygoing texture. Good sweetness, not too much so, with maple, fudge and caramel. Bourbon spice, graphite, pepper and light oxidation at this point. Round, soft, bourbony, drying alcohol. Classy. Maybe a bit of breadiness I don't love and some strong maple residuals at points, but otherwise, well-barreled and interesting with a super-soft texture.

750ml bottle drunk 9/12/25.
Bright copper-bronze-maize. Small, off-white head.
Bright, fruity, easygoing Brett with a more acidic lacto accent. Mild oak and wine with rustic grains and hints of honey and bread. Soft, with juicy acidity and fruitiness and easygoing oakiness lingering.
Juicy citrus notes with orange zest and hints of lemon and lime. Soft oak and big, fruity, easygoing Brett. Very soft all around, with deep malts showing bread and honey. No big lacto, even. Citrus and orange wine lingering with gentle oak and biscuit. Just a study in balance and drinkability.

A4 draught, 9/6/25.
Heavily hazy, bronze-honey-golden. Small, off-white head.
Delicate wood balanced by bread-accented honey and mild citrus. Not intensely aromatic, but very clean and polished with a fair bit of fruity ester lingering.
Soft with again, a delicate woody Amarillo character. No big bitterness or heavy dryness, with lemon and peach joining and a chewy, soft, malty finish with excellent texture and attenuation. Not flashy but exceptionally balanced and polished. Lingering bread, wood, lemon.
