Served in a plastic Ikea glass under the cherry blossoms. It pours a beautiful clear orange-gold with a think foamy head that leaves behind really nice lacing. It really is aromatic with a solid floral spicy component from the hops & an appetizing biscuity quality from the malts. The beer’s medium bodied while the taste wasn’t as satisfying as the aroma. It has a sweet flowery kick at first then a rough malt graininess rather than the biscuit I was expecting which ends on a mild slightly mouth puckering bitterness. As it warmed up, more of that malt biscuitness came through but remained slightly rough. I’d probably classify this as a pale ale. The aroma is great, that first taste matches it but then it kind of loses it’s way. Decent enough though.

Flaska från liquorstore i Kyoto. Smak och doft av malt, choklad, soja, jäst, brödig med torkad frukt och rostade toner. Smakrik, fadd, torr med lätt chokladbitterbeska.

2012 rating- bottle 298 yen from Liquor Mountain, 5% a nice spicy little weizen. I thought it was a solid beer & was impressed by the releases last year.

Draft - Smells like a wheat wine. Clear orange with a white head. Wheat and orange that finishes sour. I think this has gone off. If not the brewer is off his nut.

6% bottle shared by Chewy at CBB. A very yeasty fruity aroma-pungent. Stylistically a bit all over the place, weizen notes, a touch of cardboard & bitterness. Not terrible but just ok.

298 yen bottle from Liquor Mountain. A nice rich ale, a bit fruity and a bit bitter. It is a nice amber red color and poured with a light head. Quite good.

298 yen bottle from Liquor Mountain, a deep golden color with a white head which dissipated fast but there are still tons of bubbles rising within the beer. The aroma is really appetizing, a mix of lightly malted grain with yeast sweetness & a clean hop smell. The flavor was surprising as it seems spicy with clove notes similar to a wheat beer. I think it isn’t much like a pilsner, more like an American wheat beer or something. Delicious though, it’s right up my alley. I like it better than both Brooklyn’s Summer Ale & Anchor’s Summer Beer. As a general beer 3.5 but as a pilsner you’ll be dissapointed maybe 2.2-2.5 out of 5.I like it but in no way is it to style.

Bottle from Liquor Mountain in Kyoto. Nose is vegetal hops, earthy, yeasty, light malt. Deep copper to amber with a high, fine head. UsualNagahama yeast taste, with earthy hops, caramel malts, dry fruits, amd decent bitterness. Decent and a bit strange, but all their beers are lately tasting the same. This one is a bit less flavorful than usual. And way more vegetal.

Bottle from Liquor Mountain. Where else? Malty, slightly fruity aroma with lots of honey, honey comb, funky yeast and earthy hops. Darkish gold color with a nice fine head. Crisp honey and fruit flavor with some sweet malt and very earthy hops. Same Nagahama yeast flavor, but it works quite well. Nicely balanced, clean, with good bitter finish.
