Bottle: Poured a hazy copper color ale with a huge foamy head with great retention and good lacing. Aroma is lightly tart and sour with some dominating notes of dry European Saaz hops. Taste is also dominated by huge dry European type hops with a lightly sour finish. Full body with good carbonation and no alcohol apparent. Interesting experiment but I do wonder if the sour notes are there on purpose or if this is unintentionally infected.

Test vom 20.5.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 12,11,10,10,12,10 - 10,45

750ml bottle. Cloudy gray-amber color. Highly effervescent, light, and relatively dry for an amber. Hints of sour cherry, vanilla, and some sort of spice, perhaps just the yeast or malt. This is a seriously complex beer for being only 5.8%. Very well balanced with a crisp Earthy hop character and a nice subtle amber malt backbone that doesn’t overwhelm the palate. Great beer.

Bottle 40 of 250: Poured a dark brown with a thin beige head. The aroma is very wood, with a medicine fruit. Flavor is sour with fruit and old wood, but it gets very dry to the tongue. This was very nice change of pace to my normal Belgium beer.

Bottle from Utobeer. Opaque dark brown with hints of red, the head was tight and tan coloured. Aromas of licorice, prunes, sweet malts and spice. The flavour had plenty of caramel, dark fruit and chocolate, with a smoky tobacco kick in the finish. Excellent.

Bottle from Utobeer. Opaque amber with a very lively, off-white head. Sweet aroma of caramel and yeast. Sugary flavour with some apricots, vague spicing and some hops in the finish. OK.
