Served on draft at the brewery. Pours near black with a thin creamy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of rich roasted malts, chocolate, cinnamon and a spicy finish. The taste is roasted malts, caramel, stone fruits, coffee, cinnamon and spicy peppers in the finish that are perfect in scale. Unlike a lot of pepper beers that are overwhelming this starts off very mildly and builds nicely as you drink it. I appreciate that. Full bodied, smooth, low carbonation.

Can, 6.8%. Good piney hop aroma. Cloudy yellow colour. Good stable white head. The flavour is nicely bitter with a good citric pine note. The aftertaste is a little too dry for me, but quite good. Good mouthfeel.
