Cask at the Maidenhead Beer Festival, July 2016. Ok, I need to start off by saying that blackcurrants are my favorite fruit - more than that, I’ll do anything for a decent blackcurrant hit. My father grew them when I was a boy, and I spent many hours picking, and eating them. So, on to the beer! An amber pour with a loose white head; fresh blackcurrant aroma, with a hint of lemon; crisp and fruity in the mouth with an earthy blackcurrant taste; and a fresh dry blackcurrant finish. What’s not to like?!

Cask @ Dirty Dick’s, Halifax. Golden with a very small head. Has a very easy-drinking texture, with a mild fruitiness evident in its taste. The direct honey influence is not overly evident, but there is a sweetness to it and a smoothness which is probably from it.
