Description
Raw Brewing Company was created from a passion for real ale and an idea that became reality. After several years of enjoying real ale David decided to have a go himself as a hobby to see if he could produce quality real ale. After several months it was clear that the product was good with the assistance from an army of tasters! It was time then to turn this passion and idea into reality Raw Brewing Company was born.
First brewed 14th May 2010. Following financial issues, the brewery was taken over by Silver Brewhouse who still brew their brands. From circa 2021 some Raw beers were released as Silver Brewhouse beers, and the Raw brand was discontinued.

Bottle, thanks to Dave, split at Sentinel - 20/05/16. Mahogany brown with a decent tan covering. Nose is spice, dark fruit esters, herbal tone. Taste comprises bitter fruit rinds, light spice, earthy, pears, raisens. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok for a hopless experiment but I wouldn’t be rushing back for more.

Handpull cask at the Last Post, Derby. Mahogany and very translucent. My pint is very lively indeed so the thick creamy off-white head takes a while to settle. Chocolate malt, red wine, oak and sour cherry in the aroma. Sweet with a slight sourness on the long finish with black cherry and a touch of liquorice and even coffee in the aftertaste. Body isn’t as weak as I’d have expected. Grows on me, more complex that the first few sips suggest.

Cask at the Rail Ale Festival Chesterfield, 2016. Poured a slightly hazy medium amber with a thin white head. The aroma is light citrus, light grassy hop. The flavour is moderate bitter with a crispy, refreshing zesty citrus, woody hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.
