Description
Fallen Angel Brewery was established in East Sussex in 2004 and soon became popular with its unique chilli ales and ciders. Combining the well documented benefits of beer with the nutritional benefits of chilli’s, including boosting circulation, improving heart health and lowering cholesterol not to mention the endorphin rush. Fallen Angel became widely known across the chilli fraternity and beer enthusiasts. It’s tagline being “modern ales- brewed traditionally”, the brewery continues to experiment and expand its range.

In 2012 the brewery moved to the East of England and Broxbourne Brewery became the home of the Fallen Angel. Moved to Essex in 2013. In 2015 the Brewery name reverted to the name Fallen Angel.

Sample, many thanks to Grumbo! Hazed gold appearance, thin ring of foam that sticks around. Aroma of caramelised apple fruit. Taste presents a fine carbonation, accentuating a sharp tang, brazen acidity some toffee apple notes emerging, caramelised fruit, green apple.. seems a little musty and oxidised. Not great.

Sample courtesy of Grumbo, cheers Graham! Golden colour, foamy white head that dissipates away and aroma of green apple, fruity. Taste is sharp, astringent, tart, apple, tangy, with some acidity and biscuity notes. Medium bodied, spritzy carbonation, medium acidic finish. OK.

25/11/2020. Bottle from Beers of Europe. As Fallen Angel Gardener's Delight Cider. Pours clear until the final pour, dark gold with a small frothy white head. Aroma of green apple, musty apple, touch of citrus and clove. Moderate sweetness and tartness. Moderate body, quite fizzy. Tart acidic finish. Not the best, though improved towards the end.

Bottle from Beers Of Europe. Appearance - golden with big fluffy prosecco-like bubbles as advertised on the bottle. Nose - sweet, sugary apples. Taste - again, highly acidic and sweet apples. Seems like the apples were possibly underripe and then it was over-pepped with the sugar?? Palate - sweet and acid at the same time. And both to the extreme. Overall - this is a challenge but if I can get it down, it might just help me digest that huge rib roast I've just eaten, as long as it doesn't go the other way, that is.

Many thanks for this Blonde Ale To Jacek Wigier (wineofdreams@gmail.com) Piana spora niczym kapelusz na glowie tej kowbojskiej dziewczyny, jest bardzo trwala, piwo zlotej barwy lecz zmetnione mocno, pachnie paprotka, w smaku poczatkowo jak lager, bez wyrazu ale pozniej robi sie nieco chmielnie, co do tej rosliny pnacej to jest odmiany Pilgrim. Pierwszy raz mam doczynienia z ta odmiana, piwo dobre, dziwia mnie takie niskie oceny, choc zarazem szalu nie ma, Etykieta fajowa. No to kowboju do dziela.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Appearance - amber and fairly clear with ferocious bubbles and a quickly disappearing head. Nose - caramel with gentle chilli smoke. Taste - chilli smoke and light chilli spice up front. Then soft caramel follows it in. Palate - close to medium bodied. The smoke and gentle heat does dry the finish out quite nicely. OVerall - better than the last chilli beer I had from these guys.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Appearance - golden and clear. Light liveliness. Snow white head. Nose - lemon/orange and light caramel. Maybe a bit custardy. Taste - lemon and custard again. Less caramel. Palate - light bodied, a bit sweet. Overall - so so.

Bottle from Beers Of Europe. Appearance - deep brown to black and opaque. Low carbonation and a thin head. Nose - molasses and smoke. Boiled sweet and a hint of chilli. Taste - hot chilli and smoke. Sweetness not so evident as on the nose. Palate - creamy and too spicy by far! Overall - it burns, it burns! And it's down the sink.

Bottle shared with a friend. Dark brown, translucent, flat. Light meaty smell, molé, root beer. Sour taste with a fuckload of chillies. Sour hot finish. Bad beer made palatable by scorching my oesophagus. Not recommended.
