14/8/2018. Cask at the Dove, Ipswich. Pours very dark brown with a small short lasting beige head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, dark fruit and nut. Moderate sweetness, medium bitterness. Moderate body, slight oily texture, soft to flat carbonation. Sits between an old ale and a mild.

Cask @ Malthouse, Ironbridge. Unlike haddock's below, mine poured clear gold, small white head. Aroma has lightly sweet pale malt. Taste presents a gently sweet malt character, soft hop bitterness. Easy-drinker for sure, but I feel perhaps that mine was a different beer.

Cask at the White Horse, Hertford on 1st August 2018. Crystal clear coppery amber with a white foam and full lacing. Fresh caramel malt and zesty peel aroma. Tangy fruits in-mouth with biscuit malt, and a fresh, bittersweet finish. Zingy mouthfeel and a light body affording easy drinking. A refreshing, welcome first pint after a long walk.

Handpull cask from the Kings Head, Leicester. Golden, clear, flat with no head. Sweet, grainy, honey-infused aroma. Taste is a revelation: sweet at first with a bitter hoppy tang on the back of the tongue. Long bitter aftertaste. Oily body. Man, this is a perfectly-judged use of the hop. I don't like all of Hyde's beers but I like this.

Cask at the Jolly Crispin, Sedgley. Pours bright gold with a small head. Aroma is grainy and yeasty. Taste is grainy and bready with straw and yeast.

Hand-pulled half-pint in The Malthouse, Ironbridge Shropshire on 17th June 2018. As the name suggests, this is Chestnut in colour, the head a full, off-white affair. Malty front in both the nose and taste, light spicy hop undertones. Nice, easy drinking brew.
