Cask at the Monks Retreat (JDW), Reading. Amber with a thin off-white head and a grassy, herbal aroma; thin body with a grassy hop flavour and a clean bitter finish. Rather one-dimensional.

(Cask at Ship & Mitre, Liverpool, 20 July 2009) Golden amber colour with frothy, white head. Fruity nose with notes of orange and a touch of honey. Fruity taste with apricots, orange peel and slightly dusty, citrussy hops in the finish. Refreshing and quite enjoyable.

Cask@The Knights Templar. Golden amber colour, small beige head. Aroma is wood, fruits, nectar and some mild honeyish notes. Flavour is wood, nectar, earth and some mild bready malty notes. Refreshing and good.

Cask @ National Winter Ales Festival 2009, Manchester. As Owd Oak. Pours a reddish brown color with a small off-white head. Has a weak roasted malty caramel aroma. Sweetish malty, slightly roasted flavor with some hints of caramel. Has a sweetish roasted malty caramel finish.

Cask @ National Winter Ales Festival 2009, Manchester. Pours a dark amber color with a small off-white head. Has a slightly roasted malty caramel aroma with some hoppy hints. Slightly roasted malty caramel and toffee flavor. Has a slightly sweetish malty caramel finish with some bitterness in the aftertaste.

Cask @ Brockley Barge, JDW. Nunhead SE4. Pours a dark amber color with a small tan head. Has a slightly roasted malty aroma with some hints of chocolate and dark fruit. Roasted malty licorice and dark fruit flavor with some hints of chocolate. Has a slightly roasted malty chocolate finish with some hints of dark fruit in the aftertaste.

Cask handpull at County Hotel, JDW, Ashford. Copper/deep gold with lasting beige head. Malty and yeasty bitter aroma. It’s a slightly drying yeasty bitter like the majority of hydes beers. Dull but nothing wrong with it.
