Cask (gravity) @ National Winter Ales Festival 2009, Manchester, England. [ As Hydes Owd Oak ]. Clear dark brown color with virtually none head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, berry, oak, cabbage water notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft to flat. Cask (gravity) @ National Winter Ales Festival 2009, Manchester, England.Clear medium to dark amber color with a small to average, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to light light heavy malty, caramel, chocolate, sour malt, sour fruit, apples. Flavor is moderate sweet and sour with a average duration. Body is medium to light, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is flat. [20090123]

Cask-conditioned at the Shakespeare, Bristol, 7/04/09. Deep gold in colour with a slight, off-white head. Apricot, hay and grassy hop aroma. Sweetish flavour, with some prickly, dusty hops, a whiff of sulphur and a gentle, slightly sweet finish. Good.

Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, fruity - orange - exotick - mango, sweet excotick fruit, moderate hoppy. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Cask, Ship and Mitre, Liverpool. Amber colour, with a thin white head. Muted aroma with a hint of sweet malt. Creamyish mouthfeel. Flavour pretty lacking on the whole. Sweetish malt with some hop bitterness. Tolerable yet dull.
