Cask (Goat and Tricycle, Bournemouth) - Dark amber in colour. Fruity aroma with some light fruit cake hints. Grainy and fruity taste. Nothing special.

Cask, Ship and Mitre, Liverpool. Amber colour, with a thin white head. Muted aroma with a hint of sweet malt. Creamyish mouthfeel. Flavour pretty lacking on the whole. Sweetish malt with some hop bitterness. Tolerable yet dull.

Cask Conditioned at Market Porter, London
Hazy amber color. Caramel aroma and flavor; the aroma is lightly fruity and the flavor is sweet enough. But it’s missing hops.

2008-11-08, Cask Conditioned at J.D. Wetherspoon - The Lord Moon of the Mall, London, 6-3-6-3-12=30
Dark brown, almost black color; compact head. Light chocolate aroma. Medium-dark caramel flavor, some chocolate; both aroma and flavor show some yeast. Quite dry mouthfeel at the end, maybe because there is a bit more roasted malt.
2008-11-05, Cask Conditioned at J.D. Wetherspoon - Goodman’s Field, London, 6-4-7-3-14=34
Dark brown color; small head with big bubbles. It’s a good creamy caramel brew, both aroma and flavor, the flavor being more pronounced, and with a rather pleasant sweetness. On the simple side, but quite good.

Cask handpull at Crosse Keys, London. Choccy liquorice. Certainly a lot of flavour for a Hydes beer, but the plum and date fruit and liquorice flavours are not to my taste. Good beer, but not in my taste profile.

Cask handpull at Market Porter, London. Pale chestnut colour. Slightly minty. What an odd beer. Fine, but got a minty mouthfeel on finish

While the ladies went shopping in Edinburgh, we saw the chance for a good drinking session at the Wetherspoons Real Ale Festival at Standing Order with about 16 operative handpumps. Half pint, cask. Amber-fawn coloured body. Fragile lacings on the glass. Plain aroma of malt. Anise-malt taste. Very dry, a bit of ashes in the mouth [13.11.2008].

From cask the Counting House. Pourse dark brown to black with a small tan head. Mild roasted malty aroma with a light bitterness showing through. Light acidic roasted flavour with a light fruity touch. Smooth malty yet also solid bitter finish.

[Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW), Reading.] Black with a ruby hue and a ring of tan head; bitter chocolate and licorice aromas; sweet with a light chocolate flavour but rather thin; a short full coffee bitterness and very sweet finish.
