Chelmsford Beer Festival. Clear gold beer, smooth suddy white head. A light trace of sulphur on the nose. Light palate, semi dry. Nice lemony citrus and mild fresh ginger are seamlessly integrated. Slight dry palate. Good stuff.

Cask (handpump) @ Market Porter, 9 Stoney Street, Southwark, London, Greater London, England SE1 9AA.Clear medium golden yellow orange colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, pale nutts, caramel notes, fruity notes. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, fruity, sharp bitter. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20110617]

Bottled. Very deep brown colour, close to black, with a small beigeish brown head. Aroma is malts, roasted notes, raisins, coffee and some mild notes of liquorice. Flavour is strong on the malty side and also has roasted notes and quite a bunch of bready and ryebready notes in it. As it warms up coffee, liquorice, some raisins, dark fruits as well as some mild sappy notes come through. Very wellbalanced and bigtime coffeeish aftertaste.

Cask@Market Porter, London. Golden colour, small beige head that leaves good lace. Aroma is fruits, floral notes, some nectary notes as well as mild wooden notes. Flavour is bready malts, some yeast and mild hoppy grassy and bitter notes.

Cask at the Crosse Keys, JDW London. Pours clear garnet wth a foamy head. Toffee and caramel on the nose. Lightly sweet flavor, more toffee, burnt sugar, some ripe citrus bitterness, dirt. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Balanced finish, somewhat sticky, hops in the throat, some fruits. Nice.

A blonde ale with a thin white head. In aroma, light mineral malt, rather non-descript. In mouth, nice crisp malt with light German hops, fruity esters, medium bodied. Bottle at Mondiale 2011, June 11 2011.

A dark amber ale with a thin off white head. In aroma, sweet butterscotch, grainy malt, OK. In mouth, a sweet nutty malt, herbal hops, murky notes, not bad but not stellar. Bottle at Mondiale 2011, June 10 2011.

Cask at the Grape and Grain, Crystal Palace. Amber pour with a white head. Vanilla and caramel aroma with some citrus notes. Caramel, vanilla and butterscotch flavours. Crisp, bitter edge.Bitter finish.

Cask at the Cottage, Kingswinford. Pours gold with a medium head. Aroma us pine and bitter grapefruit. Taste is piney hop and grapefruit to start. Piney strong bitter finish.

Cask at the Old Fountain. Pours a clear, amber-gold with a faint, white head. Rich sugar nose, some toffee and maple syrup and bread. Flavor seems slightly messy but still alright. Faintly tart, deep dough with some herbal bitters. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Doughy, sweet finish with very mild, leafy hops. Alright.
