Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol 25/03/2011. Reddish amber in colour with a decent, frothy white head. Light, malty aroma with a touch of fruit. Flavour of sweet, doughy malts, with a touch of earthiness and decent, bitter finish. Ok.

From cask at Cross Keyes. Ppurs dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is dark roasted malty, slight metallic and breadish. Bitter, dark malty, slight breadish and roasted. Ends dry malty and lingering breadish. Lasting bitterness.

Half, cask at Angel (JDW). Partly hazy, golden body. Film-type layer, lace rings to the glassware. Fresh smell of orange-like hops. Resinous bitter taste profile, hints of toasted malts. Smooth and lingering finish. Medium bodied. Not more than a standard IPA, but a satisfying partner with the food (London, 20.03.2011).

[Cask at Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading] Light amber, moderate lasting white head, slight fizz. Earth and straw bitterness parts to reveal an orangey sweetness behind. OK, but failed to wow me.

Cask, handpull at FFTMC 19.02.11 in company of Loz, Nigel (Hopshackle) and friend of Nigels (forgot name) Pours amber with a white head, good clarity. Taste is streaky citrus, mostly grapefruit, bitterness showing in a furry kind of way. Nice stuff. A6 A3 T7 P4 Ov14 3.4

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol 22/02/2011. Deep amber in colour with a frothy off-white head. Grassy hop aroma with some orange fruit and sweetness. Flavour was buttery, which took the edge off some citrus fruit and dryish finish. Disappointing beer from Acorn.

Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. Gold with a long lasting, loose white head; dusty hop aroma; sweet malty flavour with a touch of lemon; and a sharp, cutting, bitter finish. Very drinkable.

Cask, The Dispensary, Liverpool. Pretty much jet black with a thinnish lingering tan head and some lace. Aroma revealed roasted malt, coffee and car tyre, whilst the flavour continued along similar lines with further well proportioned notes of dark fruits and chocolate. Quite full, with good balance. Creeping bitterness in the finish. Tasty stuff, and plenty of appeal here. Budmo!! (that’s ukrainian for cheers btw)

Cask at the Railwaymans Arms, Bridgnorth. Pours gold with a thin head. Aroma is tropical fruits and piney hops. Taste started with some tropical fruits and a strong bitter, piney hop finish. A bit watery.
